Before you do anything else, watch this please.
http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-behave-on-an-internet-forum
Now have a read here. Remember the key points and all will be cool.
By posting on this forum you agree to the following:
The whole idea of the WigWam is to provide a less formal place for HiFi enthusiasts to hang out. We do not have strict rules and we try to let each member be himself or herself as much as possible.
Think of it as your local pub, only with cheaper drinks.
Just to keep this a happy pub we have a couple of Moderators: Hawk, PolarBear, Duvet, Glens of Antrim, Testure, Gsrai and me (James).
To keep things friendly the moderators may pull you up on the following:
- Racism - be careful with issues of race, if you think that your joke or comment might cause offence, no matter how trivial, please don't post it
- Strong language IS allowed. If you find strong language distasteful or offensive, please do not join hifiwigwam.
- The Private classifieds are used at the seller and buyers risk. HiFiWigwam, it's owners, Admin and moderators take no responsibility whatsoever for any deal concluded or otherwise within the classifieds section/s of the forum.
- No arguments from other forums - many people post on other forums and may recognise members from other sites. If you have had an altercation on another site please leave it there.
- No hard porn or links to hard porn. We have had some cheeky pictures on the site, if you need a benchmark; anything more than Page 3 of the Sun will not be tolerated. If you are posting anything cheeky or naughty, PLEASE post a warning so that people can elect not to view the images etc.
- We really want to avoid any HiFi snobbery. This place is for ALL HiFi enthusiasts, no matter what their budget or musical taste.
- Be cool.
- You can post music clips on the forum, make sure you are not in breech of copyright and keep the clips short. NO CELINE DION, MARIAH CAREY or DIDO! Music clips such as these can be very disturbing and will be removed.
- Hypocrisy is allowed.
- Flaming is not allowed, unless it is done with great humour and wit and with the tongue firmly and obviously in cheek.
- Please don’t use multiple identities. I will ban both of you.
- Be nice to each other. It's only a bloody stereo.
- WE reserve the right to ban any member from posting or viewing the site, and will take measures to ban IP addresses and email address to prevent banned members from re-joining at any time. We will not always offer an explanation for our actions and do not respond to personal emails from banned members. We will read any explanation or apology and consider it, but we are not obliged to respond.
- Discussion of banned members is not allowed on the forum.
- Any libellous remarks will be removed; links or posts that infringes copyright or IP rights will also be removed. However moderation here is reactive and as such, by posting here:
- You agree to indemnify the owners of HiFiWigWam in full and on demand from and against any loss, damage, costs or expenses which they suffer or incur directly or indirectly as a result of your use of this Website other than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
- Dealers will respect other dealers on and off the forum and respect that the consumer will always have a choice and the final say.
- Any recommendations to in any way alter mains power conditioning, supply, fuses, chords and plugs that are deemed to be unsafe by the moderators and or admin team will be removed. Persistence in this area will result in all of the users posts being removed and a ban from the forum.
- Private and dealer classifieds are not discussion threads. You may offer praise for an item being sold and you may recommend the item or the seller to other users. If you have comments on pricing these should be sent via Personal message to the seller. If you have an issue with the seller please PM a moderator.
- We would prefer never to have to, but if we feel people maybe using the PM system to abuse some one, or to relieve them of money in some untoward way then we might vote amongst the mod team for one of the administrators to take a look. At that point only PM's relevant to the investigation will be read.
- Code Of Practice for Dealers
1) Retailers of HiFi who wish to join the Wigwam membership must sign up as a Dealer. On payment of the registration fee they will also be able to advertise and promote themselves in the Dealer Classified and Reviews Section.
2) Dealers wishing to participate in the two channel section must also carry a complete list of the manufacturers they represent in their signature. This is a condition and without such no posts in the 2 Channel area will be permitted.
3) Blatent or Excessive self promotion is not allowed outside the specific dealer forum. This includes starting threads in the 2 Channel Section.
4) It is not permitted for dealers to use the pm facility to tout for business.
Failure to comply with the above could lead to some or all posting rights being revoked. - Industry Associates
Wigwam recognise that many individuals are associated with the HiFi Industry outside of the area of direct selling. For example these include designers, consultants, accountants, part time shop staff, and journalists to name just a few. Wigwam reserves the right to ask such individuals to declare their interests if the moderating team believes their posting style causes a conflict of interest. This will be entirely at the discretion of the Admin/Mods.
We would also like to take the opportunity to remind Wammers that ALL posts made here are just individual OPINIONS, and that responsibilty lies with the members to remember to form their own. By highlighting where possible those involved with the direct selling of HiFi we aim to make this easier whilst still respecting the open and easy nature of the tent.
We don't like having rules on this site, I hope to not have to add any more. Please recognise this is a free and easy site where people can be themselves. Try not to let other peoples views get to you.

Due to recent threats of legal action against HiFi WigWam and other websites by Mr Nick LeFeuvre of Resolution Loudspeakers (aka "World's Best Loudspeakers", SUHTL), it is my sad duty to inform all users of this forum that discussion of these speakers is now impossible on this forum.
Discussions of these speakers have resulted in such threats and in the interests of continuity of this forum no further discussions can be allowed.
It is sad that I have to make such a statement. But given the ferocity of Mr LeFeuvres defence of any negative comments about his products, and the fact that most comments on here about his products are indeed negative, I feel I have no choice.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
Regards,
James.
Thank you for all of your PM's about this issue. I would like to answer a couple of points publicly:
1. This announcement is in no way an admission of liability. Resolution Loudspeakers have never had any case that could be succesfully brought against HiFi Wigwam members or it's owners. This is a public forum and people are entiltled to publish their honest opinions of a product no matter how negative they may be. It is the continued threats of action against us (and other UK HiFi forums) and the vindictive manner in which any negative comments about their products are dealt with that has lead me to this. I simply do not have the time to deal with Resolution Speakers every time their products are mentioned.
2. Please support us in this matter. I know many of you feel agreived by this and would like to continue the debate. But please be aware there is a bigger picture here involving other sites in a similar situation. This is an act of solidarity with the other forums and not one of rolling over.
Thanks again,
James.
