A range of excellent power cords that provide a worthwhile sonic enhancement from budget to high end systems, that cost many times more from elsewhere!

Interconnects too that range from budget copper to pure solid silver, plus speaker cables and accessories all covered by a full no quibble refund.

Those XLRs are sounding really nice now Frank. They are quite neutral sounding with plenty of detail. Sound very similar to my Atlas Navigators (only much cheaper :D).

Danny/Richard, the rest of the power cord range comes in either grey or black, so I wanted to differentiate the Stratos from the others by giving it a new exclusive colour scheme, as I have also recently done with the Orion in a red/black outer cover, otherwise it causes some confusion amongst my customers who own more than one power cord model, even though they have physical size differences :Not Sure:

You can still have one in grey or black outer if the colour in the photo is a bit too
LURID

for your tastes (even though you say you can't actually see it behind the rack?), but shall we cross that small insignificant little bridge only when you actually buy some, you firkin TIGHTWADS!! :P

No they are not frozen Rory as I don't myself believe the not inconsiderable added expense brings worthwhile results to justify the outlay.

The "KRYSTAL" part of the word is an association with clarity as in "crystal clear" ;)

So whats the cost of a 1.5m Stratos mains block? I'm Considering changing the power cords and block since the RA cable actually made an audible difference (much to my surprise) to the amplifier. CDP has an attached cord, so the mains block is the only way to change that without opening it up and resoldering (not my kind of thing)

Hi Frank

Still very pleased with the Mercury powercord :D

One thing I've noticed is that your IEC plug is a snugger fit than the wattgate on my RA Classic cord - this must improve the sound.

Wondered would it be better getting an Orion/Mercury with a Merinco plug (never heard of them before, but look a lot like the Wattgate) for my amp or go for a Stratos?

Regards, John.

In pure honesty I stock the Marinco plugs only for the folks that insist on having them.  If I'm asked for my opinion I always say the additional outlay providing an audible difference is a moot point.  Could they tell blind if it was fitted or not?

The IEC connector has one small tiny flaw in the design and that's the "jaws" on the female connector receptacle pins are rather thin and rely on the metal's natural springiness to maintain pressure contact with the male pin so it doesn't arc.   A judicious nip with the needle nosed pliers while assembling works wonders and equals or betters the £20 extra for the Marinco plug ;)

Marinco and Wattgate are one and the same thing - both owned by Ray Kimber and apart from the label are identical.

The difference between a Mercury with a Marinco plug and a Stratos is considerable in performance terms.  The Mercury cord has short flexible copper 'tails' so it will fit inside the plugs, whereas the Stratos has twice as much quantity of silver wire and connects directly onto both the sets of plug pins without any intermediate 'tails' at all.

What would an 8 way block cost ?  also what type of connection do you use?

Russ I think uses a High current 16A IEC socket  :)

8 way sockets cost £4.00 more than the 6 way sockets Dave. See here:

http://www.krystal-kables.com/products/sockets.htm

I don't sell them with any socketed inlets because even a 16A IEC restricts power more than a hard wired cable does.  RA should know better :D

Just nicked three Mercury power chords and a trailing block off Frank. The operative word is nicked because i have spotted a well known cable vendors 0.9 metre silver power chord retailing at £540.:shock::shock::shock:. I'll say that again £500 and 40 feckin quid.  Review to follow.

Yep my Speaker cables are now bought and paid for. Damn good price, lovely build quality, quick delivery and they have improved the midband... somehow..

Cheers Frank.
