You might laugh, and you'd be right to do so, but i have a friend who did just this.



and to be honest, it sounds bloodly amazing, a totally natural and diffuse wall of sound that spreads way beyond the speaker placement.



Alright, they still sound much like the crap speakers they were in terms of tonal balance and dynamics, but they sound way better at the same time.

I've heard the 'spoon' speakers too and it does, in fact, work really well. However, the same friend has now been given (yes, for free) a pair of mint condition Tannoy Cheviots which I listened to last night - absolutely brilliant.

but i would sudgest for a cheaper try, do as i did, buy a pair of cheaper full range drivers, simple cabinet then some sort of deflector, or if they have a rising response, no need.
