will be interesting to try these against the Wolff's - bought them for connecting up the Technics pre/power when it arrives. After posting that I had no spare IC's a few weeks ago, I now have 4 pairs![]()

oh god - I'm hearing all sorts of differences
this is far too confusing
So Russ are you saying the Technics lead is superior to the Wolff's?

ok, so the £6.50 Techincs cable has just replaced the Silver Wolff in my system
now means I have LC-OFC from cd player to speakers.
Funny that the most revealing cables were the copper JVC ones that were used to demonstrate the CDP - completely no bass though (couldn't even hear the bass riff on 'Red Right Hand'). The Wolff has a nice balance between revealing treble and bass, but the bass lacks detail in comparision to the Technics, which does almost everything better

. Is there anything that the Wolff does better?

Well If you had the Acrolinks (rca's) on there Danny you'd be missing an awful lot of lower frequencies and pace too.
Quite scary how they kill the music
Maybe Danny a system balance issue, prehaps you should try fitting ALL the Technics imterconnects throught out your system se if it redresses the balance sir

Where did you get the technics from ?
There should be something amusing or clever here...

Duvet = Danny
Biscuit = Russell
Neg Rep for sale - £10 a shot.
got the technics off ebay - the only bidder, people need to keep their eyes open ;)
Tony, I only use one set of interconnects (just cdp --> amp) and then some Hitachi LC-OFC speaker cable to the Yamaha's.
Testy - the Technics matched the others, or was the best in every way (apart from the detail of the JVC) (to my ears).

Sorry I get you guys confused. Its all too tricky for me.
I mean Russ drives a porsche hairdressers car (not a proper one booo!!!!) and takes in $100K commssions a month.
Where as Danny just slums it with a Wadia & Yammies ;)
I'll try and pay attention next time(sorry Guys)
The Acrolink rca's certainly I'm Not impressed with, IMO do more harm than good (based on the cables we've done the comparisions on)
The IEC's can work with the right gear, though So far 2 out 12 systems we've tried them have they improved things rather than a sideways move.
AS for the bake off, the same amp that made your speakers forward, was powering the system at the show (metal drivers also) that was anything BUT hard.
Room/speaker issues for all the kit concrned.
Anyway the point here is that RUSS feels tyhe technics sit far better in hid system than the Wolfs.
I suggest you send the same 2 cables around to a few guys get their opinions in their systems, see what cooks. Tone (soz again for the confusion)

well I've now got a spare Technics pair, the JVC's and the Wolff's if anybody wants to borrow them for a quick comparison
I changed all my cables this week as well, to Van Damme. Already had the blue speaker cable, thought I'd go the whole hog and bought a normal rca phono, phono to 3.5mm (into t-amp), subwoofer cable and coaxial to bnc digital. If you want another cheap cable to experiment with, i'd recommend it. Very cheap, well made and lovely connectors. 2 guys sell them on e-bay, as well as Robert Schofield (website).
