I'm on Jury Duty from a week Monday.

Has anyone here done it yet? Any good stories that you are allowed to share with us?

Yes . Did it in April. The first two cases were pretty run of the mill affairs. The last one involved cheque fraud with a major high steet bank. Mention the word fraud and you 'll never guess where the defendant came from;)

I had to do it a few years ago. Take a good book as you can be hanging around for ages. I got sworn in and then we broke for lunch so I popped into town to get a sandwich and bumped into the 'offender' who was walking in the opposite direction (He was on a GBH charge) I absolutely shat myself and quickly dived into a shop. The case wasn't heard in the end as some evidence or other was classed as inadmissable. It only took 'em 4 fuckin days to decide. It must cost huge amounts of money just because they take so blimmin long to get going.

There was another trial going on at the same time which involved a care worker sexually abusing an old aged pensioner. I'm glad to say I was fairly relieved that I didn't have to sit on that one.

Just for a laugh if you do get on the jury and have to make verdict make sure you disagree with everyone else to see if you can blag a night in a hotel

It's not just the Jurer who this effects. One of my work buddies has been called for Jury service on Tuesday. Due to other work commitments this means that we are now short staffed at work , so instead of being off for two days I'm now on telephone standby and can't go anywhere or do anything .

He, he, he, The track 'Melody Lee' was was one of my favorite songs off this LP, i played it to death, I've always liked songs with slow intro's that then explode ! into good old guitar orietated Rock'n' Roll .

I'll start a new thread ref the Slee...

Favourite punk band when I was a bondage trousered youth.Saw them in Edinburgh Odeon and the chairs got ripped out the floor.

That was the LAST ever gig in the Odeon, just had a squint thru collection and I have 11 Damned Lp's and they're all in good nick.

Don't cry wolf 7" pink vinyl is one of my prized singles.

Bloody hell , the memories. Read another post today where a guy had listed Holiday in Cambodia in his top 10 tunes, so I had to reply to that anawl.

The very name Dead Kennedys is just awsome , what a name for a band . I had ( and am sure still have) Holiday in Cambodia, i'm sure that the single version and the one of the LP fresh fruit where different ?? That guitar on Holiday is just awsome, trouble is all of thewse records need to be played distortingly too loud on a really crap stereo to really do them justice and bring back the true memories. I think i mightrecord some and listen to them in my car ...
