"Motorcycle Diaries" is enjoyable, btw even though it's furrin! Very like the book, which is most unusual for a movie..

If you havn't already seen it then get Mystic River - superb film.
Brother is a greatfilm although got slated in some quarters I've watched it afew times and really enjoyed it.
Also if you like good quality world Cinema try Carandiru - very good.
Also if you didn't catch on tv the other night there's Downfall as well, and also try A Very Long Engagement with the lovely Audrey Tautou
I thought Mystic River was going to be another overhyped 'Oscar-vehicle' type film - but it was genuinely a very good movie.
Watched 'Serenity' after reading some good reviews and after what Jonathan Ross said about it being 'what the Star Wars prequels should've been'.
Don't believe the hype! It's a rubbish film with few redeeming features.

Not entirely successful, but a must for Firefly completists.

Shame "Serenity" is duff, I like a good scifi but couldn't stand the kid's stuff that is "Star Wars" (esp. 1-3!)...
Mystic River looks like it's worth a go but not entirely convinced by Carandiru - looks a bit too docu-drama and miserable...

Mystic River is quality - one of the best films I've seen in ages, quality story, top acting all round.
I really liked Serenity - thought it was one of the best sci-fi films I've seen in a long time. Agree with you on the damn kids Star Wars - he should have made the films for us 30 somethings who put him where he is todayUngrateful so and so.

Let's hope so...
But no doubt the lure of kid's toy sales will dictate the story (or lack of)...
If you want proper scifi entertainment I recommend "Spacehunter - adventures in the forbidden zone" and "Metalstorm" (originally in 3D!). Spacehunter's even got a young Molly Ringwald as the one you hope dies, but doesn't, and you're kind of glad..

The decisions of US TV executives are sometimes incomprehensible. On the one hand they can Firefly, on the other they make spin-offs of Stargate SG1. WTF?:Not Sure:
I guess that after Buffy and Angel were finished/cancelled, they just decided that Joss Whedon was no longer flavo(u)r of the month.

I never understood the devotion that Buffy seems to inspire...
Several of my m8s think it's the best TV prog ever, but it seems to me like gentlemen perving over Buffy and her lez-be-friends!
Anyway, Last Great Wilderness arrived so shall be watching that soon!
Battlestar Galactica (the new tv series) pisses all over Serenity from a great height!
Highly recommended! Certainly aimed ata more mature audience. Great plot and excellent CGI.

.
Just finished the first series of this and can second Jezzer's recommendation but I still slightly prefer Firefly.
Just started Huff on DVD, first series was quite cheap when released last week. Stars Hank Azaria who does the voices on the Simpsons. Very adult drama but also very funny as well.
Mistic river is dog muk
