this weekend talking about our wedding savings and budget etc it has become apparent that even with really hard saving we may fall short by a little bit...

and i offerred to sell my hifi to fundthe shortfalland i meant it..i couldnt believe it came from my lips. she said NO luckily!! it still may have to happen nearer the datetho.



i could live with some minstrels and cheap cd player and amp for 6 months...couldnt i???

why not sell that car you bought her and buy her a bike instead?

It's amazing when the wife and I look back at the list of people we were going to invite how many we've lost contact with or never see or hear from. There's one entry on there with the name Dave that neither of us can actually remember who it is !!

In the end we got bored and took ourselves off to the Caribbean got married on a white sand beach, just like my wife had always dreamed, and saved ourselves £10k or more.
And no it wasn't at Sandals !!

Yep, weddings always go over budget. Just rememeber it'll be for yourselves, so don't skimp on the honeymoon! You could give all your guests bacon butties and a tin of fosters and it'll still be a great day and you'll have more cash for that dream honeymoon. ;)

IF she really loved you, she would set up a separate house for the relationship, and become a surrendered housewife succumbing to your every request as and when required.

This would leave you with no worries apart from how to set up your multiple systems in your own pad, and arrange for the surrendered housewife to have access at certain times for laundry, housekeeping and mealtime duties, even better if she would arrange to be a courier, and take the clothes away to be laundered and do meals on wheels, and return later as a private escort.

The honest truth is that women are a completely different species, they lie when they tell the truth, yet always mean something different, even though they say they love you. They do not really, my wife says it all the time, but whenever I mention ideas like the above I get in trouble.

Wegot married last year. Did it completelysecretly, went to The Isles of Scilly, got married in a register office (had to recruit 2 witnesses)and had a greatfortnightsholiday at the same time. Told everyone when we got back! including parents etc........... no bad reactions though.

Cost less than a decent amplifier AND, did it the way WE wanted to. Forget outdatedtraditions and expectations of others, it is your life, enjoy it!!!

lived on my own..with my hifi for a long time. i am lucky that i have met someone who will put up with me, never mind marry me!!

i think what i am saying is that thinking about downsizing considerably didn't seem that hard a pill to swallow. i suppose the reality may be a lot different. better than borrowing money tho!

I have sold my system before when circumstances dictated, you can put a really nice system together for £500.

Then you can look forward to starting again and building an even better system
