falcoron's vintage TT project 99% comp

This all started with my thred " what TT would you like to own?
saw some stunning old TT's lovingly revived and brought back into the present with great results, so i bought an old working Leak lenco and did this with a lot of help and advice from the lenco lovers forum and J7 from audio origami

Well nearly there guy's, 99% finished, made the plinth from 54mm walnut the 2 off 18mm maple, done the 4mm top sheet from clear acylic perspex, firstly to keep the maple clean and for looks. I think it looks rather well and am pleased for my 1st effort. Needs the top TT plate securely bolted to the plinth. Looking for some 4mm theaded bar to make my own for this. Then just needs the arm set up correctly, ive done it to the best of my very limited knowledge and with help from you tube but i really need someone either to tell me or show me what to do, better still get a person who knows what to do.
The arm is a linn basik bought from J7 at audio origami, ( top bloke) and using a Denon DL110
It sounds nearly as good as my sugden masterclass, and with the tweaks needed as mentioned i will be well pleased if this improves thing signifcantly.

Needs the wood finished with bee's wax and a bit of elbo grease, its in its raw state now.
just noticed that some of the pictures look a little bent or warpped for some reason but i can assure you its as straight as
Huge Hefner!
You can see where it needs bolted tighter to the plinth as its just sitting there at the mo.

Got the Walnut in brooks timber yard in Belfast, great source for hard woods. Got the maple there too.
didnt post side by side but it came out like that.

When you find the 4mm bar be careful not to tighten them up too much. I managed to unweld one of the mounting lugs from mine by a bit of overzealous tightening.

Should do, just be careful is all. They won't take as much pressure as you think they might.

Luckily for me I sorted the plinth and made this mistake before getting the top plate resprayed. I was just fitting it to see how it sounded and planning on a respray in a couple of weeks. I've got another top plate coming my way now, so I can just strip this one and replace it with the new one once I've had that repsrayed. I'd have felt a lot sicker when the thing went ping, if I'd had it resprayed first and this was the final build. I like messing with these things but would probably draw the line at welding

I carried on anyway for now. My plinth was made for direct contact with the platter well, so I screwed that down anyway and tightened just the two corner screws opposite from the one that went ping. I suppose it means I won't be without whilst the new top plate is being resprayed so a small recompense.

full hi gloss down to full matt. Pay me for the paint i buy only and post mate.

I have a spare plate here sitting in primer if you want me to paint this and replace it with yours i can do that, but this has the aluminium decal plate removed so its all plain on top

It's where a lot of the Lenco nuts hang out. Very kind and helpful lot they are too. I told them my tale of woe about the top plate and almost immediately had a free offer of a spare.

Great isnt it? ive got yours now in primer was going to paint it some outrageous colour but thought better of it. Still pondering what to do with it, i have a few ideas though!
