    yes it's a bit grim. Unfortunately I can't see him winning the battle on all three fronts, those are some serious areas for the big C.

    Always looked a bit thuggish as a player but seemed a very nice and articulate man as a pundit. He had a bright future in broadcasting. Very sad.

    Once met him in a hotel bar when he was doing punditry, came across really well. Bloody shame. Same gig as Lance Armstrong, so a chance of survival?

    I used to work with his cousin who said that, at odds with most other prem players, he never lost sight of his family values and was always there to help them out. A real shame, amplifies the need for having a fumble in the shower regularly. Good luck John.

    Miracle how he came back from this, even bigger one that he is competing in the TDF when you consider it effected his lungs too not to mention the brain, after reading his book I was amazed to see the brain scan of the tumours, all over the place.
