It is nothing difficult really!
The standard star trails technique but in this case I used a ND soft grad too so to level the difference between the star light and the car lights (put the NDG with the clear area on top)
Rutland Water 8am, minus 2C.
Now I see it here, I'm not happy with it.
This was Camel Estuary using my old Panasonic FZ5 in 2005...

These two look a bit HDR but they are not. For the majority of it's time the statue has been drenched by water run through the elevated hand which has discoloured the bronze. The water is currently turned off whilst the Council considers a repair which would be very, very expensive.
