I quite like the Pentax-F 28mm, but only bought it as it's very close focal length to the FA 31mm & quite affordable in comparison. IQ wise, Is the FA 31 a big step up & worth the cash outlay?
I think if I had the cash I'd collect all the Limited lenses! The DA70 & DA21 are on the list, the DA15 might be a little wide for my use. Do you use the DA15 for some of your landscapes? & do you have any experience of the FA43 & FA77 lenses?
The speed of the 31 adds to the amount of use I get out of it. The quality of the bokeh and oof areas is far nicer, although the 28 is every bit as sharp. With hinsight I should have bought the 43 and 77 when I had the cash as that wee bit of speed would have been nice. Having said that the quality of the 40 and 70 is superb and they are very sharp wide open. Combined with the high ISO capability of the K-5 makes them a joy to use. Light and well made as well. The 15 was lovely but I've sold it to fund a 4 day trip to Venice in November taking pictures with some mates. Wish I'd sold something else first. One with the 15 processed in Silver Efex

The sharpness of the pot is far superior in my view to shots I've taken with the 12-24.

The 60-250 is probably still my favourite, although you get a lot less use out of it.

Like the graffiti shots Tel especially the close ups. Is this an 'officially sanctioned wall' as it looks very neat and tidy. I know in many areas it can get out of hand with all the gang stuff but some of these hooligans and chavs are actually bloody talented with a can of paint.

There are three small 'car park' areas down one street which runs parallel to North Laines. It is the back of a load of shops.

It is a project started by the Council with local groups in 1996 and is still going, the artwork gets changed now and then. It gets left alone by the 'taggers'

Now it is a bit of a tourist attraction used a lot by photography students! There are some Youtube uploads too.

Great work John, the mono stuff is really good, I particularly like the mono rendering in 'woodlight'.

Tel, the graphic nature of graffiti makes it an ideal subject and, as you've discovered, close ups make excellent photographs. If you're interested I've done an AV on graffiti which can be downloaded here (PC only).

    Lovely images Mark, as usual.

Barney, just shows what can be seen if you actually get up and go somewhere.

Thanks Tillman, seeing your work made me realise what the Course Tutor was going on about, she kept talking about textures and abstract and thinking about the shot.

A couple a bit more abstract I took yesterday

Finished my Course this evening, had to post a few!
I think I will start a separate thread about it as it was quite amazing.

I learnt loads, all these pics are straight off the camera as learning post production techniques is a bit further down the road.
