This is a link for anyone who has considering a pair of Dynaudio Contour 1.8 MkII.

They are on Ebay ending today at 14:37, on sale from dealer Audio-T.

They started the bid at only £650, but the thing is noone has actually bid yet. New they cost about £1800 so basically you'd be getting them for a third of the price if noone else bids.

They end 14:37 today so be on the ball.

I placed this topic under 2Ch audio to be most prominent in the hope that the right person would see it.

I did consider it for myself but my power is from bi-amping and you can't with Dyns, plus the bass might be overpowering for me.

They offer a three month warranty and they are in beech finish.

He entered a secondhigher bid (eg 700) which displaying is conditional to entering ofanother bid by someone else (eg 680) exceeding his current 650bid. With the entering of that second conditional bidhis first bid getsreiterated.

yeah but why not just put one bid in (higher amount)? Even if no-one else bids he'll still get them for starting price.

Roll with it, he first put one'public' 650 bidin. With the entering of the conditional'700'bid, he could haverevised thefirst bid to say '675'. Although he didn't do this, E-bay displays with the entering of the conditional bid, theamount of either the revised ororginal bid. Probably not to the liking of the orignal bidder (as he didn't change amount of his opening bid) but any other bidder is warned that a bid even in the last second can be outdone by the earlier entered (andthus prevailing)conditional bid.

I dont think you can pay over the odds for these speakers. As an owner myself I think 1k is a great price, they are better than the Focus 220.

Last pair I saw on ebay went for 650 in same finish.

I paid 950 for a premium-finished brids eye maple in mint condition from Audio Salon.

These are excellent speakers, great if you like tight, controlled bass that never wooshes or booms.

Anything under £850 would be a bargin.

They need powerthough - valve users need not apply. ;)

No offence to cloth ears, but I hate it when people post ebay links, I know you're only trying to do others a favour but if I'm watching something with a view to bidding the last thing I want is another 50 or so potential bidders!

Looked like a nice pair of speakers for decent money there, well done who ever won them

Yeah I see what you mean but one man's loss is another man's gain and since these links are getting posted on Wigwam it benefits us in particular. Of course sometimes the one who might lose the auction or have to pay more in the end might also happen to be one of us, but remember that is only a maybe. Also in this particular case noone had bid at all when I spoke first and it seemed a great bargain for one of us to acquire these speakers that getso highly spoken ofhere.
