Wrong, very wrong SS, not often I concede, but on this occasion given the era that Jackie drove in very wrong.

Andy was snapping that forehand like a wicker carpet cleaner across Solids ass.

    Nice performance.

OK I'm 25% Scottish but I am not nationalistic in anyway - to put in context I would FAR rather watch Steffi Graf or Justine Henin anytime. But Solid old mate we know you're jesting and more than anyone represent what is brilliant about this place but I suggest you wind in a little. AM has arguably a more complete game than Nadal or Djokovic I know when it comes to the latter stages of a major he can fluff his lines, and he doesn't quite have the media presence of Roger but as has been stated in just about any other era he would in all likelihood have bagged several slams and I for one hope he prevails.

As for Jackie Stewart his achievements were almost without equal and F1 is as much a sport as anything else

Gawd, shocker of the day. Stratie is 25% haggis and bagpipes. Explains the unwillingness to upgrade the old hifi for yonks and the budget vacations.

    I'm 12.5% so I'm not too afflicted.

It was a confident display from AM in the first round considering who his opponent was. Agassi's recent interview was probably spot-on - AM could have won a few in the Courier-Sampras-Agassi era. But he's in the wrong (i.e. Super) era and Federer and Nadal are going to be the top two players of all time. Had they been contemporaries with Sampras, they would have made him and Agassi look quite ordinary.

A fourth SF showing will be respectable for AM. Whether he takes it a step further actually depends on one of the top 3 making a slip-up or injury IMO.

It's the .5% which explains the cheap DACs and squawky speakers rather than a more sustainable investment

Its the other 87.5% of my lineage that stopped me from wasting money on that Naim DAC which didn't do shit for my music. I'm rolling around in a heap of Nespresso capsules and KFC as a result.

btw I can tell that AM drinks cheap coffee.

You'd be better off with the Naim DAC and some mineral water extracted from the chalk streams surrounding Salisbury. Your complexion must be non-existent after all that gunk and your hearing completely screwed.

I believe that was one of the biggest upsets in the history of tennis. No wonder this thread is going mad... Hello? Hello? Anyone there?

    Great performance!

What a closing game, no nerves whatsoever...

But give credit to Rafa, still took the time to sign autographs (despite being, obviously gutted) when leaving the court a true gent!

Well done that man. Amazing service. Rafa not settled . Shaky the other day.

If grass plays like real old fashioned grass it definately is not ideal for him.........he is adapting.....and he didn't today.

There you go. Biggest upset maybe since Boris lost to Doohan? Can remember coming in from work that night and WTF?

You know what they say about Czechs and grass tennis. Nadal's shocking early exit really works in Murray's favour. How could he not reach the final now? This is the Diamond Jubilee year and who knows, he could just win. And in true Scots style, step on Elizabeth II's toes when she hands him the pineapple cup.

Andy is playing well enough ATM. It will take more than that though.
He has to go on a streak of tennis and just reach another little apex to oust Roger or Djo here.

Rosol will be dangerous too. He may be on the streak of his life with courts and moment suiting him now to do a bit more damage.

I was remembering the Doohan moment last night Lexi as you will at our age! All the speculation but Nadal hates indoors and the ball was just not lifting off the surface which combined with the other guys hot serving streak aided by the faster conditions meant an ambush. Where this leaves the tournament who knows? Tsonga and Murray - tactically brilliant in dealing wih a real threat on grass - are the obvious beneficiaries in the bottom half.

One question - are the courts a little quicker this year?

Wet and moister with ball coming through more and staying lower it looks like atm.Lots of slicing. Saw about 2 slice shots in full FO final.

Has a bearing...........bit like the going in horseracing. Love it..........the permutations and variable nature of the Worlds best tournament.

Sorry Solid...............bit of a British moment there!

Much is being made that if they had played on without the roof Rafa might have wrapped it up in 25 mins given that he was in the ascendancy or at least had a break before the roof was pit on. Well, might this might that, Novak might well have won in Paris if..............
