Putting speakers into new cabinets - MS3.40's

Got a set of mid 90's Mourdant Short stand mounts boxed up in the loft. MS3.40 from recollection - but could be wrong and don't fancy clambering around the laberinth after an afternoon in the pub... Anyway - these have been boxed up for some time as the cabinets are a little incompatible with my wife after receiving a few chunks of broken glass in them some years ago (long story but fortunately none got near the cones!). They work fine still, but ain't pretty!

Anyway - seems a shame to leave them boxed up doing nothing, so was wondering if anyone had ever had new cabinates made and wheter the cost would be worth it for these speakers. I've not the the woodworking skills or tools to do it!

Any advice as to a company that might do such things and whether it is worth it for these speakers, would be much appreciated.

I don't know these speakers, but I think they are two way reflex loaded? If you want the same response, then making the boxes exactly as the originals is essential. That means not only the same materials, but the same dimensions, and panel thickness, damping, etc. A tall order for a non-specialist. My suggestion is to take out all the bits you can and flog them on eBay individually, drive units and crossovers as pairs.

Absolutely - unless these speakers are hugely valuable to you in a nostalgic way, and you have deep pockets to pay for proper restoration, don't waste your money. Put your dosh into something more worthwhile.
