    Car judder

    Anyone have any idea why my car judders, usually in 3rd gear at around 30mph but as soon as i put a bit more power on it goes.

    Car is astra estate 1.6 petrol.
    Have to sell it so want to be able to put problem in description.

    If you are keeping it at a constant speed and not accelerating, then it may be 'hunting' for fuel and should be easy to put right with a bit of a tune up. How old is the car.And you need to explain the judder in more detail for a more precise answer..

    Mk 4 r reg 75,000 miles.
    Judder is same as when you let clutch out and not enough revs but not as violent.

    You can generally eliminate clutch issues by dropping it into fourth or fifth at low speed and accelerating hard. If the revs pick up at a higher rate than your speed increases, then worn clutch plate is the likely suspect. Alternatively it could be a flat spot if it occurs only in certain gears at certain engine speeds. What sort of use does your vehicle have? Predominantly low speed urban driving can be more wearing on a car than long distance motorway journeys.

    clutch seems fine.
    mainly happens in 3rd but have noticed it a tiny bit in other gears.
    mainly local 150 mile a week with occasional hi fi mercy dash around the country.
    Don't have money to get it sorted so will just advertise it with fault.

    It was probably 1 pence cheaper than a proper induction system

    If it is happening as clutch is let back up then could be clutch plate contamination (usually from oil). May be worth checking your engien & gearbox mounts don't have excess play.

    Otherwise it could well be poor fuelling as has been said (could require a service & Airflow meter clean, could be poor mapping by Vauxhall.

    From what you have said it sounds like it is happening when you are labouring the engine at too low revs for the speed yet 30mph in 3rd I would think quite normal (what revs is that?)
