No idea about the sound (obviously) but it is an interesting concept. Probably good for use outside too.

Greensound’s speakers use the glass panel to deliver sound omnidirectionally. A sound generator in the base of the speaker vibrates the glass to project the sound; different areas of the glass are responsible for producing different frequency sounds – the curved area at the top produces high frequency sounds, the middle produces mid-range sounds, while low frequencies are produced by the larger area at the bottom near the base.

Sounds a similar concept to NXT. I wonder if it's sufficiently novel compared with NXT to get their patent granted.

NXT have never managed to break into proper HiFi, although they have had a lot of success with small PC 'speakers and singing birthday cards. I wonder what these measure like. I would guess fairly poorly, a great mass of peaky resonances.

    Look nice though!

Serge, Naim use a similar tech in their new Ovator speakers for the tweeter,

    BMR tech.

I don't see any connection between the NAIM tweeter and NXT products, they work in completely different ways. The NXT 'speakers have a small actuator near one edge that sets up almost random vibrations in the large diaphragm. The NAIM unit has a conventional voice coil and a bending-mode diaphragm, with weights at critical points to remove the response peaks. The NXT 'speaker has very many response peaks, which are supposed to integrate to provide a smooth overall response. The result of the NXT device is a loudspeaker with a fairly smooth response but made up of numerous peaks. It's never been smooth enough to compete with conventional drivers for HiFi, but works well enough for PC 'speakers and singing birthday cards.

pretty, if you like that sort a thang. I can see them in many a corporate 'entertainment' suite, or maybe adorning the bathroom of a mega yacht, in which circumstances, who would care about the sound? Good luck to em I say, and maybe one day, a bit of spin off might makr our lives better too....
