300Bs and Lowthers - for ever together
One for our resident expert/jeweller... (pls).. My wife's watch had the sapphire crystal literally fall out after only being a year old (it had actually cracked radially around the perimeter, and left a ring of glass in the bezel) and hey presto 4 months later it's cracked again, straight across the middle of the face..
Now this is an expensive dress watch that only gets worn a couple of times a week, and while the mfr is replacing it foc, I'm wondering if the case is properly 'square/round', or could it be a faulty batch of crystals - they apparently only make a few hundred of these a year...![]()

With the money I saved on cakes, I bought a nice motor..
Been a while since I have posted on the wam, been busy with work and other aspects of my life (all good mind)
One thing I have been busy doing is buying watches
Top left to right: zenith manual wind 1970's, omega manual wind 1940's, tissot automatic modern, junghans automaitc modern, seiko automatic 300m divers modern, wenger quartz modern
Next row: jaeger converted drivers pocket watch 1920's (just jaeger before he joined lecoultre), cyma www manual wind WW2, nomos club manual wind modern, sinn u1 1000m automatic modern, rolex manual wind 1954, omega megasonic not quartz and not a traditional tuning fork movement 1970's
Tissot tianium quartz modern, tissot quartz modern, grandads 1960's accurist manual wind
Citizen solar powered modern, timex POS, casio g-shock, tissot quartz
Got a fair few on my wish list at the moment, need to clear out most of the quartz watches to replace the spaces in the box.
Anyone else got anything interesting lately?

Still working in Lewes Dom?
...I went to a funeral, which was very sad, and then I popped into Hi-fi Serious, to pick up a top of the range Bang & Olufson stereo system...
I got me one of these as I wanted one for a while as my daily wear to replace a 1980's TAG.
Still got the TAG after 30 years.

I've owned one of these for about 20 years now. It's been knocked about a bit, but I still love it.

Good work Dom, I thought I hadn't seen the watch thread for a while. Can't reallly afford the real thing but these Chinese copies of the Unitas movement are good value and so far has not let me down.

Nice one Ray, you have the makings of a CW collection now
Still happy with my C5 that I bought for everyday wear about 18 months ago.
