One for our resident expert/jeweller... (pls).. My wife's watch had the sapphire crystal literally fall out after only being a year old (it had actually cracked radially around the perimeter, and left a ring of glass in the bezel) and hey presto 4 months later it's cracked again, straight across the middle of the face..
Now this is an expensive dress watch that only gets worn a couple of times a week, and while the mfr is replacing it foc, I'm wondering if the case is properly 'square/round', or could it be a faulty batch of crystals - they apparently only make a few hundred of these a year...

Next row: jaeger converted drivers pocket watch 1920's (just jaeger before he joined lecoultre), cyma www manual wind WW2, nomos club manual wind modern, sinn u1 1000m automatic modern, rolex manual wind 1954, omega megasonic not quartz and not a traditional tuning fork movement 1970's
Tissot tianium quartz modern, tissot quartz modern, grandads 1960's accurist manual wind
Citizen solar powered modern, timex POS, casio g-shock, tissot quartz
Got a fair few on my wish list at the moment, need to clear out most of the quartz watches to replace the spaces in the box.
