Seb Coe (nothing against the guy), was he knighted, I can't remember, but why is he Lord and not Sir

he got a KBE (Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire) a life peerage and became a Baron, therefore Lord Coe

He should be more famous for his comment in 2008 regarding a possible GB football team for the Olympics, when told the Scots and the Welsh might object he said "Fuck'em"

What is it with "celebs" or attaining "celeb status" in this country? It appears to be a quick way to feather nests and earn fame or notoriety at the expense of many deserving people who in all probability do more for their fellow human beings and get nothing for it. Just a well connected ex-runner who somehow elevated himself to some sort of sporting and economist expert claiming all sorts of victories for the country, and stamping all over those who opposed him.
