First pressings son !
About time we had a proper Utd. thread.
Hmm..., Rooney is a very average Premiership player...so Man U should sell him and try and buy another striker with the money...

I mean, you never see them together do you?
Mmm. Was disappointing. Their form has been pointing to something like this.
10 points wasnt' the disgrace that some make out. Key moments are crucial for other teams and MUT are a bit more like "other teams" this season.

Fact is that there are teams this year who are out and maybe as good as Mut.
Berbatov had a brilliant run of form last year at this time. That has been missed as nobody has produced anything like that this year so far.

Rooneys hairdo has not produced the Samson effect has it?

There are many years when the Champions League later stages is fought out by teams who never won their league......Barca excepted of course.

Annoyed about going out but would rather have finished 4th or gone through then been knocked out in the 1st knock-out stage. The Euro pub league is a waste of time & effort. I hope they use it exclusively for the young squad players to gather experience.
SAF & the players I've heard interviewed seem suitably ashamed by the exit & so they should be. Some terrible home performances in the CL this season. They deserved what they got.
They looked a shadow of themselves last night and indeed that comment applies to most of this season depite only City being ahead of us in the Prem.
I am not convinced with Evans, nor are Vidic or Ferdinand the players they were a couple of seasons back, I sense that significant sums of money may need to be spent and soon if we are to complete with the Noisy Neighbours and not just keep up with the other big 4 in the prem.
Anyone else get really annoyed with the ITV coverage? Annoying replays when play is going on and Muppet commentators!
Very disappointing few months. Reminds a bit of Chelsea last year - terrific start, than something broke and did not get fixed. Not the best year internationally for the Premiership either - no 1 and 2 knocked out of the CL. Time for some changes maybe?
How come every armchair pundit can see United need one, or two even, world class central midfielders? It's all right buying fancy wingers and young defenders but they've been lacking in this department for at least three seasons, since Scholes was any good basically.
Should've pulled out the stops and secured Sneijder when they had the chance. Just look what impact VDV has had at spurs, shit, he could have had Scott Parker pretty cheap even if just as a transitional player between the next big signing.
The problem with Sneijder is that he's a gamble and he wanted £250K per week after tax, with a guarenteed £70K per week image rights on top and he wanted a 5 year contract, which rose to over £300K per week after tax. Also Inter wanted £35M for a player who was nearly 28 (last summer). So we would be paying a 33 year old £300K+ per week + image rights in a few years time. The total cost was astronomic and that is why nobody has got him from Inter, as several other clubs were interested. We offered (I believe) £200K per week including everything, and he turned it down.
Forget Sneijder as I am not convinced he is the answer. More of a loss was Nasri, as he would have been perfect for United.
If I was a betting man, I would suggest that Fergie will be looking at Eastern European for less than £15M.![]()
We deserved to go out, we failed to address the problems of the last two years, namely needing two more top central midfield players and a right back. Instead we spend £20M on a 20 year old keeper, who will improve but shouldn't be first choice yet. We did buy two centre halves (which we needed) and a winger (which was dubious if we needed).
I view this as a blessing is disguise, in that we will at last get rid of some of the deadwood (Carrick, Park, Evans, Berbatov) and will buy at least one top central attacking midfield player to replace Scholes and a right back.
We were really unfortunate with injuries this season, especially Cleverly and Anderson. Now with Vidic looking like he's out for the season, we have the prospect of Evans![]()
