Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins) for Meltdown Festival August.

Having given up on ever seeing "the voice of god" Liz Fraser sing again, I'm am in total shock to hear she is performing at the Meltdown Festival in August.

New solo material on the way & she's going to do some Cocteaus stuff.
I've had to read the news 5 times to believe its true.

Cocteau Twins in Nottingham early 80's.....one of my top 3 gigs...... ever.
So I'm just a bit excited.

Saw them at Sheffield City Hall in 1990 - OK but nowhere near the top of my 'best gigs' list.

There was no mosh pit for a start.
If my life lasted only one day I'd still be drunk by noon.

Excellent news. Probably won't be able to make the gigs but will definitely check out the new solo material.
I hope Anthony Hegarty also befriends Harriet Wheeler.

£45 to join + whatever the tickets for night cost (~£25 i'd imagine) makes for an un-cheap gig.

Not sure I can warrant that even for Liz

Saw them back in the 80's in Belfast......45mins in she threw some sort of hissy and stropped off. I loved them but the support band Diff Juz were a different league altogether.....amazing stuff.
Music up for grabs at My Discogs Open to offers from wammers on everything! (Except for Johnniebaby cos the artist wouldn't benefit )

Looks like I may be working both those nights anyway Karl.
    Sigh..

Saw TCTs at The Cornwall Coliseum of all places, around 1985 or 1986.
Remember it being cold, almost empty and missing the last train back to Plymouth.
Big fan of Victorialand, marvellous album.
Some new music would be something to look forward to, i enjoyed the 12" she put out some time back.

Liz was always quite, eh, fussy about her on stage sound and would often get irate at the crew if she couldn't hear herself well enough. I bit of a nightmare for the monitors mixer getting her quiet voice above the wall of guitar noise. I saw her a couple of times get very upset on stage. Since the introduction of in ear monitors she always seemed much happier and relaxed.
