I so nearly missed him, and so glad I didn't.
I saw him play in November 2008, he died in January 2009

Went to see Love in 2006 (ish) fearing it would be another waaaay past their best travesty.
The Forever Changes (in track order) tour.
Totallyfeckinunbelieveablystunninglywonderous.
I'm genuinely sorry you missed it, but there are very good DVD's of the tour.
The ones I missed were Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley.
Whilst there are dvd's of Jeff Buckley there's sadly nothing of Nick Drake.
Thats why I go to so many gigs......just in case!

John Martyn for me also, even though I did actually see him live. A couple of friends of mine took me to the Half Moon in Putney around '93 to see John Martyn. I had no idea who we was and to me, it was just a pleasant evening supping a few pints watching a fat bloke sing and play guitar. I didn't get in to his music until 10 years later and regret not making more of that evening.
Do Led Zeppelin count? Mate of mine had a spare ticket for a gig at Canterbury Uni in 1970 but it was 12/6 (definitely 1970 as it was old money) which I couldn't afford.
No matter how fast I run I can never seem to get away from me.
Jimi Hendrix. I did want to go and see The Beatles, but had to go to a pantomime instead, because I was too young. I made up by seeing Macca last year. Would also like to have seen the Rolling Stones but I think it's probably too late for that. Edit: And Pink Floud.

I was lucky to see Jimi Hendrix at York University and then a couple of years later Dylan at the Isle of Wight - that was magical.
That Isle of Wight concert opened my eyes - there was a group called 'Liverpool Scene' whose last number was always 'I Got the John Mayall Can't Fail Blues' - all the members of the group leave the stage one by one until only the guitarist is left playing various blues licks - at which point Adrian Henry comes on and unplugs him and leads him off-stage - great - next day it was reported in the press that a musician had gone beserk and had to be forcibly lead off stage!!
However I NEVER saw Cream - biggest disappointment of my musical life - far too short a lifetime for that group - at least there is a video of the 'last' concert.

My biggest regret is not going to see John Martyn a second time as I had the option to go to the final gig that he did in Bristol. Bad mistake.
Pink Floyd, whilst in theory not impossible to see them live at this point are going to be highly, highly unlikely.
Peter Green. Again, quite possible to go see him play these days, but he's such a far cry from his hayday that there would be little point on a musical note.

I've always wanted to see B.B. King but just never got around to it. I'm not sure he'll be back at his age.
Karma means I can rest easy at night knowing all the people I treated badly had it coming.
I'm happy to say I did see BB King live - amazing performance from all in the band too.
Lucky to say I saw Johnny Cash live too - I've only ever known one other person who has the presence that he did (and he wasn't a performer). As soon as he walked on stage the room belonged to him and him alone.
OT, I wish I'd seen The Clash.

I always wanted to see Big Country with Stuart Adamson as the singer more than the one time I did. Properly great live band, Mike Peters is the singer in the current incarnation, and while he can do it, it just isn't the same.
Willie De Ville - Loved him from the early days of Mink Deville and had two or three chance to catch him live but they always seemed to clash with something else so never ever got there .
