We know what we like and we like what we know! It takes time for kit to get known but hopefully threads like this will spread the word to a wider audience and more importantly keep second hand prices buoyant. I think it is that fear of losing money which keeps us from being more adventurous.
Let me get this straight. You take a perfectly good CD and put it in a DVD player??!!

I took a punt on the H-1200, without really knowing anything about it, however, I did get a home demo first, thanks Keith!

It was such a step up (no pun intended!) from the Whest Two, that it took about five minutes to decide to buy it.

I'd love to hear the H-1500 some time.
Take it with a pinch of salt

Any one is welcome to pop around.

I have my eye on a cart at the moment, not an Allnic one, but one I have heard several times now, Should be good fun.

I agree it is a shame Keith didn't get going with Allnic, I remember years and years back he suggested I tried one of their phono stages, but I was unsure about an unheard of brand

It is a shame the phono stages were by and large ok, it was the rest of the range!

I have been amazed at how big a difference a really good stage makes.

Looks a great system you've put together there. Pleased you are finding your nirvana

Palmer 2.5 Turntable, SME M2-10, Lyra Kleos, Puresound P10/T10 or Sonneteer Byron CDP into L300/845M and out of Acoustic Energy Reference 1s

They are becoming as common a muck round here.

To maintain any exclusivity I am going to have to get a Stanton Groovemaster V3.

I've already ripped the cantilever out of mine and replaced it with a piece of a safety pin that I cut off earlier. It sounds mental, better than an AN LTD, patent pending

    Hi Dom,
Just arrived here (so 'Hi' guys), to discover that you appear to own my previous phono stage. Sounds like you are really enjoying it?? Certainly is an eye opener over what I had previously and blows most phono stages into the weeds, eh?

I hope it serves you well and you continue to enjoy,

    Regards,

    G.

    Hi Dom,

Nope, never change anything. From the moment I tried one I was hooked. There was advice about changing the big PSU valve, but I was happy without going to any further trouble or expense.......

Then the b****rd up the road at JA let me hear a NAGRA VPS. . . and there I was off and running AGAIN!!!!!! (he he he)

    Regards,

    G.
