Alfa rwd for those that can only dream of the car above. Its a small RWD Alfa Romeo![]()
They were different days, JB. A shopping car didn't carry 750 kg of air con and safety shit, so it didn't need 150 bhp and huge tyres.

Am I the only person who thinks it looks like a BMW Z4 with an Alfa badge stuck on it? They should concentrate of getting that 3C or whatever it is prototype in to production. Looks beautiful.
Karma means I can rest easy at night knowing all the people I treated badly had it coming.
Bear in mind OP's pics are just a magazine's guesstimate of how the car will look - could be a whole lot better, could be a whole lot worse, we'll see...
I'll wait for the 4c in 2014'

Jeez, they're quite pointy aren't they? To be honest I hadn't gotten that far down.
As for the SZ Zagato.. I used to think they looked cool when I was a kid but they actually look like someone's taken a big plastic hot tub from an Essex back garden and added wheels and headlights :-/
I'd like one of these please

I like cars, i might even say i love them but i never got the alpha thing. To me they've always been unreliable, rust prone and mostly quite ugly. Yes some of their concepts and pre 70's cars had a certain charm but then so do some pre 70's MG's. Yes the 156/9 was quite nice looking in it's day and their engines sound nice and rorty but overall i just don't get it.
I've driven a 146 and a 164 and as i say the engines were lovely sounding but they weren't fast, they didn't handle particularly well and the interiors were horrible places to sit.
Nope, sorry, don't get it at all...
From now on if my comment can be expressed in the form of a tired internet meme or picture.
So it shall be done.
I think the interior of the current (and overdue for replacment) 159 is a lovely place to be. Far nicer than the equivalent BMW 3-series (though the latest 3 has a much improved interior).
You're right about Alfa's not being particularly fast. The 156 2.0 twinspark I had had a 0-60 time of about 9.5 seconds. Which is a bit rubbish for a 'sporty' car. Still, it was a good looking - if unreliable - cruiser.
A girl I know bought a MiTo recently. She's had it for about two weeks and has had to take it back to Alfa for repair work (stop-start system).
I am looking forward to seeing the actual production Alfa spider. Hopefully it will be a return to form for Alfa as I don't think the MiTo or Giulietta are particularly attractive.
In fact, with only two current Alfa models to sell, it cant' be easy being an Alfa dealer...
Eats, shoots and leaves...
Me, I like these two Alfa's, as they drive nice

jezzer,
did they fix the 'italian' driving position that afflicted all the alfas i've sat in in the 156/9? You know that unique gibbon arms, stumpy legs with optional pedal offset to fit the gearbox / sump / other less important bit they tacked on at the last minute.
I've also been a passenger in a 75, again ugly, not quick and the interior looked like the inside of a chocolate box, the guy who had it bought it after his carlton gsi3000 24v was nicked - which was all round a far better car.

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I’m not sure you realise that what you heard is not what I meant.
An Alfa should look like this:
