Amusing that many were thinking Germany would turn them over!
Damn you Holland!!
Nothing to see here.....move along please!
Superb stuff. Great end to the tournament. Nice little flounce by Mario.
Yes. Just as in 1970, a very good Italy came up against one of the greatest teams ever. Fabregas has integrated and given them even more, I don't think that German defence would have coped with this either as those 2 centrebacks were not the best German ones I seen.Congratulations to them, we may be looking at the new Brazil (although you will have to torture me with nasty things, before I admit they were better than the Brazil '70 team)
You are forced to play at Spains pace. There is no way to slow it down when you get it as they chase at same pace as they play. There were usually 3 on Pirlo who was made to look a little even paced shall we say!. They swarmed Balotelli too...........I think he made space for one shot and he never got behind them apart from an odd high delivery.
Record holders now as even the big 2 of Germany and Italy aint done this as it's so tough. Was great to see 2 fantastic first goals too and no penalties. Enjoyable. Roll on The Premiership now!
Men who never get carried away should be
Many sports journo's were thinking/hoping that would be the case. Germany were the media darlings for much of the tournament until their wheels fell off. They are some way behind Spain at the moment but then so is everyone else. Yes, teams can park the bus against them but there aren't many other teams I can think of who'd have demolished Italy quite so thoroughly as Spain did yesterday. I'm glad England didn't have to play them, it would have been embarrassing. As it is, England, like Spain, left the tournament unbeaten.![]()
Very nice to see very early in match Espana trying to score rather than simply to pass to each other.
Well done - nice also to see Golden hair Toreador finish as Golden Boot and then bring in little ninos, and Matador score.
Am just off now to see final ESPN hour 'Press Pass' on the splendid Polish-Ukrainian Euro, then - having watched Vialli Beeb last evening - shall watch match again via ITV recording.
Last Friday on Eurosport saw 5th spot-kick shootout in row since Bayern where team scoring first whilst oppo miss first then 'loses' ... (Under 17 Froggies vs Germs in Girls' Euro final).
Viva Espana-Italia who like England did well. Only Spain-England were unbeaten. England should of course also tried to score eventually. Manana (na na na na na).
'Sometimes via the senses, mostly in the mind' (or pocket)...
Spain were a bit good weren't they!?
Finally... a game by Spain showing what they can truly do.
I still think Germany would have been a better opposition but on that performance no-one could live with the Spanish.

Did you hear Blotelli's agent has judged Mario as being worth 200million.
Wanker.
Impressive and a joy to watch, Spain really were magnificant. All the attributes of individual players integrated into one team and without any display or indication of self interest or ego, just a team/national performance. Absolutely superb and worthy of all accolades.
