The trouble with Springsteen is that all his early stuff was recorded purely for Radio, very LoFi. One of my favourite songs of all time is "Born to run" but I have yet to find a decent recording of it. It does however sound great in the car.

Found copies of Nebraska & Darkness at a car boot last weekend. Been looking for Nebraska on vinyl for a while & both of these were in good nick.
I do find many CBS albums of that vintage have a lean quality almost as if they were using a slightly different Eq.
his music is so good, i dont really care about how "hi fi" it is. the hallmark of a great artist. actually i dont pay attention at all to fidelity any more. i just get good music.
