I have this superb Stello DP200 for sale. A multitude of single ended and balanced inputs and outputs, this unit does not have the optional phono & ADC boards fitted.
You'll not find a bad review of this fabulous sounding amp, Fully balanced, dual mono, class A and a powerful headphone amp, plenty to drive even my current hungry AKG 702.
Mint condition, with remote and original box.

I come here every day to stare at this but I am very attached to my Benchmark and wouldn't want to sell it to buy this only to regret the move. How would you say they compare (if you have had that opportunity).

I've never heard a benchmark, but previously used a Matrix Quattro which is the Chinese clone and (with my sales hat on) will better the BM with...
Lovely class A goodness
Superior headphone out
Superior (digital) volume control
Balanced and SE inputs

Not to mention the dimmable display and remote control and of course it looks and feels like a proper amp as opposed to a lightweight desktop unit.

Thanks for taking the time to respond Nick. I will have a think over the weekend. In the meantime, good luck with the sale. The Stello ticks a lot of boxes, I just need to weigh up the pros and cons because this will also be competing with a very good autoformer based passive pre.

Right, a few comments from me having heard this amp.
Build quality is very good, isolation form noise also good. It neither generates noise or is susceptible to induced noise from transformers etc.

The DAC section is really very good. It produced a very 3 dimensional soundstage with good depth, bass was both deep and clean. It made my Benchmark DAC1 sound a little rough and agricultural in some respects. It can be configured as a standalone DAC and like that it had the Benchmark beat.

As a DAC pre, it is also quite special and the benefit of using it fully balanced is audible to my ears. The variable volume control is very good and using it as a pre and DAC there was no reduction in quality from a digital source. It was considerably superior to the DAC1 in variable output mode and nearly as good as my passive pre when used via the analogue inputs. In the end I didn't buy for 2 reasons, 1 practical and 1 personal. It had a little too much gain for my power amp (something I could live with) but it would have prompted a rethink of my vinyl solution to get it back to where it is now, and I can't afford that right now.

To my mind, mating this with a class A or good valve power solution would be a real killer combination. Lovely bit of kit that had me genuinely conflicted about buying or not. Thanks Nick for your patience and understanding.

I'm tempted to partner with my Stello CDT200 transport, which is using the Squeezevbox Transporter as DAC. If only I wasn't moving house and hoarding the pennies
