"In This Place" from Robin Trower's superb "Bridge of Sighs" album. Again, containing many great tracks, so this is a taster. Fairly minimilist, but great feeling. Soulful vocals from Jimmy Dewar too.
I first heard this guy when he played support for Robin Trower and was blown away. Turned out he was mentored by the great Walter Trout. The track here features Walter.
Rory Gallagher's "A Million Miles Away" from the Irish Tour DVD. Originally recorded on his album "Tattoo", my favourite album of his along with "Blueprint" and "Irish Tour".
The great Jimmy Page on "Since I've been loving you", one of my fave Zep tracks of all time. I played the original version of the track from Zep III a couple of years ago, to a work colleague in his early twenties, who likes modern metal etc. and hadn't heard any Zep. The track finished and he muttered "WOW". Zeppelin are now his favourite band. 'Nuff said...
I do love a noteworthy indie guitar sound. Here's another New Zealand indie guitar classic.

Also previously mentioned and while I'm sure there's plenty by them not up to this level (in fact, this is best thing I've heard by them), some great guitar on this by Grateful Dead:
Full version on that album is over 23 minutes!

Can't believe we've got this far without JB getting a mention and I don't mean Mr Cobra

Would just say for the supremley well healed you can buy the whol of the dead,s europe 72 tour for a wallett busting 500 quid ,.72 cd set or you can buy bickershaw on it,s own, if you do that sugest you listen to in the bath.but i would still recomend europe 72 as the place to start

best live dead recordings are doug oades, who built special mic amps and modified his recorders especially for the deads sound from the audience....do a search on the live music archive for doug oade...youll see..hear,rather..free tooOriginally Posted by DAVE WEIR
