You used to be able to change your vote in polls, not any more by the look of it.
Now got John Cooper Clarke, Felice Bros, Smoke Fairies, Thea Gilmore and Beth Orton booked

Now due to health reasons' live music for me is my sons band or getting out to one or to local pubs with live music.
Back in the sixties my brother took me to my first gig down Hyde park in London, saw the Stones for my first time, along with Roy Harper. The years since i've seen Hawkwind,Pink Floyd,Genesis,Yes,and many more big names and many good bands who never made it big.
Now a days anybody worth seeing the ticket prices are prohibitive.
Tel - if you are fancying the Thea gig in Nantwich in October, I can recommend Mary Gathier earlier the same day. We've booked in for a long weekend to enjoy plenty of live music over a few days.

The Nantwich festival looks brilliant but for a family reasons I need to be fairly close to home over the next few months, but I will be seeing Thea in Brighton on 7th Nov.
I have been a fan of Mary Gauthier since 'Drag Queens in Limousines' which is so long ago it is pre-history (or before the Wam existed) but have yet to see her live. I will get to one of her gigs sometime though!
Enjoy the festival![]()

I have that same album :-)
Seen Mary play once before and it was my fave gig of the year. So Nantwich was a must this year for me.
Hope you get to see her sometime

AS MANY AS POSSIBLE.
The only sensible answer. Going to live performances gives you a constant reference point to assess how shit your system actually is and how you can only hope ever to capture just some of the essence of reality.
I don't care how piss-poor the gigs are, we try to get to at least one or two a month and preferably a lot more. Usually just average local bands in pubs, but it's still live music.
Considering how much money and effort constantly goes into my system, in honesty, any live performance is better.
And so it shold be.
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I’m not sure you realise that what you heard is not what I meant.
a lot more humour than you may imagine

Yeah I can imagine that though because despite her "life sory" which is consiserable of course there is humour albeit dark in her music.
Problem is I have never got on with that Album. For some reason it never got played more than 2 or 3 times, when I fancy a bit of Goshay I invariably reach for one of the others![]()
