I'm considering them too. The price appears to be dropping in Germany, so probably will here as well. http://www.csmusiksysteme.de/de/home...ex.htm?fref=pa

I see that there are some "trade-in" deals which give £125 to £150 off the list price, depending if it any KEF model or another make you trade in. I was thinking of trading in a pair of old Cresta's .
I think they are pretty well priced compared to their nearest (IMHO) competition. I had LS3/5as, still have Harbeth P3ES and prefer the LS50 to either. I sold my LS3/5as for twice what I paid for my LS50s and the current Harbeth is almost double the LS50 price.
So much the better if they get cheaper though!
If there is a clearly audible difference which does not show up in your measurements, you are measuring the wrong parameters.
The German advert lists' KEF LS50 stuckpreis E499'. Stuckpreis means per item or each. That is 499 Euro each or 998 per pair which isn't far from the UK price of £800
As the OP thank you for all the advise.
Unfortunatly KEF dealers are not very well represented in my area and its a 50+ mile drive to take a listen. Last time I wanted to listen to the Q300 I had a 100 mile drive to find a dealer with them on demo.

Alan
Interesting. I'm going to have to listen to these.
