Met Umberto Vanni last week in a hotel car park in Dumpdee.

He gave me a pair of ART Skibo 3-wayspeakers. I gave him cash and Zappa'd him a cd.

He was reassuringly fat and balding, like me. We recognised each other straight away!

Pleasant chap. We spoke about music and probed each others equipment.

Pleasure to business with him. Recommended.

I'd recommend GSRAI as a seller. We swapped headphone amps - he wanted silver, I just didn't care lol. He put me to shame by using bubblewrap. Got it next day. No problems at all.

I bought soem pro foam form Matt. I built it into two frames and covered it with material form Matt as well. They are used at the first reflection points (I will shift them as I get other stuff form Matt) and basically deaden the sound of the room and solidify the center image and stage depth etc. I can post some photos of them if you want?

For no economic benefit he volunteered to swap his silver rega ear for my black one so I could get the missus of my case.

He received mine fine and his didn't land initially so I feared the worst (i.e. lost in post) and the man chased around to find out what had happened and spent ages on the phone to locate it. It turned up today and it is in mint condition - excellent!

I'mvery impressed with it just out of the box - punchy & smooth at the same time; greatwith voices& the beginnings of a very precise soundstage.My only negative is that the binding posts are far too tacky to belong on an £800 amp. Reviewwill follow after it has a chance to bed in.

Regarding leads,Effem will be getting a PM in the not too distant future ;)
