The project aims to pioneer methods of producing pure nanotube power cables, known as quantum wires, which may conduct electricity up to 10 times better than copper and weigh about one - sixth as much.

    Here

The contract calls for CNL to provide NASA a one-metre prototype of a quantum wire by 2009

    one meter $11 million dollars

Doh! just think. NASA could have saved themselves $10,999,000 by buying a decent hi-fi cable from eBay...

Just the one? pah, I have 5 not including the one on the kettle, I think that makes me the winner of this internet cock measuring lark :argue:

Nordost have said that if NASA could just increase the money to $20m then they may be able to afford a 1 metre length of Odin.

It won't conduct electricity any better but it will sound wonderful.

Not really that's an affect you get at low temperatures

nano tube will work because of structure of the material
