Big Mac – Streaming integrated!

Perfect as a modern audiophile system ‘hub’, the new MA8000 offers D/A decoding at up to 32-bit/192kHz for up to five digitally connected devices, plus a high-quality complement of analogue inputs.MA8000 Low Angle

The MA8000 has an incredible 15 inputs in total: six line-level; two balanced; five digital; plus a high-quality MM and MC phono input. The five-strong digital input suite in the advanced McIntosh Digital Engine includes two assignable coaxial and two assignable optical inputs, plus a dedicated asynchronous USB 2.0 input (operating at up to 32-bit).

The MA8000’s Moving Magnet and Moving Coil phono sections feature adjustable cartridge loading and impedance matching and can be optimised to perfectly suit a vast range of turntable and phono cartridge configurations, allowing record collections to shine like never before.

Also included, is McIntosh’s new internal High Drive headphone amplifier which offers increased gain and output power, optimising it for virtually every headphone type, from in-ear to over-ear, 20 to 600 ohms. The MA8000 also benefits from a Home Theatre Pass Through feature, for seamless integration into existing multichannel home cinema systems.

Offering a (conservatively rated) 300-watt output, the 45kg solid-state MA8000 is a monumental McIntosh thoroughbred and has been engineered to offer unrivalled flexibility, advanced connectivity and the ability to drive even the most challenging loads. The amplifier also includes a discrete eight-band analogue tone control, giving users greater control when using the wide range of input sources the MA8000 is capable of receiving.

The MA8000 proudly retains McIntosh’s legendary 1950s styling and world-class sound quality, and comes complete with the iconic glass-fronted fascia, retro controls and blue power meters. Further features include McIntosh’s Power Guard® technology: a waveform comparison circuit that continuously monitors both input and output signals, dynamically adjusting them when necessary, in order to avoid potentially damaging clipping.

The new MA8000 is perfectly suited to exploiting the full potential of today’s digital devices, while delivering the legendary McIntosh sound quality from a wide number of source components. Like all McIntosh products, the MA8000 is carefully handcrafted in the Binghamton (NY) factory and boasts classic 1950s styling with contemporary features and technology.
