  2. Premium HQ-180 Audiophile pressing using RTI record technology on Reprise/Rhino label. Gatefold sleeve with all song lyrics on inner gatefold. Quite frankly pisstake artwork included.....essential a blank blue glossy 12" square sheet. I have an original too, the reason for buying this being the absolute hammering my original has taken over the years. In the event t' original still sounds pretty fair considering, but this does sound very nice indeed. VR2F @ 24bit/96khz, streamed.

  3. Oh, I thought the point was to lure unsuspecting subjectivists into saying what they liked so that everyone else could steam in and give them a good hiding for it!

  6. I really do despair. Actually, statistically-speaking, it may well be that you are the lunatic fringe, Serge, and the majority have a more balanced, and tolerant, view of our fellow hobbyists. Please, stop the crusade, Serge ... you possess all the social and psychological characteristics of a religious zealot ... wholly convinced you are always right and wholly intolerant of any other belief system. It's supposed to be a hobby ... supposed to be fun. I do wish you could show a bit of restraint and not jump in to every thread with the same old preaching. Thank you.

  7. In general that is pretty lazy reductionism & not really what people tend to say at all. So all the things you/others think you can hear handily fall into your handy "we can't yet measure that or simply don't know what to measure" kop out, that you roll out at every oportunity. Really convenient is that! The trouble generally is that real batshittery & hyperbole often go hand in hand & you can't expect people to give much credence to this or give people an easy ride. A lot of us have less of a problem with subjectivism than you seem to think.......It's the bollox I can't be do

  8. The Technical section of the forum was a relatively recent addition, in response to some of us asking for a section where we could debate technical issues, verifiable testing, statistical accuracy, general evidence-based debate without the 'I heard it so it must be true' type statements often made elsewhere. Then, quite recently, some asked for a sub-forum where the lunatic fringe could hang out and would be free to make whatever outrageous statement they felt like without anyone asking for verification. Both sections have value, one for disseminating and increasing knowledge, the other for

  9. The wam is different - that's partly why it's so successful. If you want a forum where cable idiots can blow smoke up each other's arses while everyone else stands round and applauds, that's pretty much every other h-fi forum on the internet. But that isn't us. Sorry if we disappoint.

  11. About 10 years ago, a bunch of audiophiles were posting on hifi choice forum. We were arguing about the efficacy of cables, power cables and the latest Musical Fidelity box of empty. We had debates about Naim fans being sheep, valve heads being all pipe and slippers, and the virtues of CD's against Vinyl. That bunch of audiophiles got a bit fed-up with the way the hifi-choice forum was neglected, so I set up HiFi Wigwam.. and ten years on the same group of audiophiles continued that debate... We also started having get-togethers "bake offs". And through those meetings we set all our differen
