  5. I was just on my way to my Mum's, when my brother pointed out that our Mum lives in a apartment complex specialising in the over 55s. Therefore with over 80 dwellings with around 140 occupants, we need to stay away to protect ourselves. So it was flowers in the car park, then I left feeling very guilty. 8. In my experience they should be used to solve mains problems. For example your located in highly populated area causing hum and background noise. If you hear no improvement you maybe fortunate to have noise-free mains. Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
  9. In general their grounding stuff is quite effective. I am not sure why you would trust their ordinary connect cables over more reputable brands at the same price. Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk

    Soundstage

At a rear venue where musician are playing the sound stage is real and caused by the varying time delays at various sound frequencies. Our perception this phenomenon has evolved from possibly hunter gatherer instincts. Sound engineers try to recreate or exaggerate this phenomenon through manipulation of time delays of sound frequencies. Interpretation of recorded signal time delay varies widely whether its through the equipment reproducing the recording, or the listeners ability to separate the music from its acoustic environment. IMHO to call it artificial is a mute point, the time signal delay is real, whether or not it coming from speakers or a concert hall walls. Its the equipment's ability to reproduce the time delay, or the listener's ability to perceive the the time delay, which is just a, how long is a piece of sting question, that has no definitive answer.

  20. Ok maybe I should have used the term musical narrative. What was the artist trying to convey, happiness, defiance, loss, romance..... all that, and more, can be lost in the pursuit of sonic perfection. Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
  21. I am not sure I agree. I have replaced some, so called improvements, that did remove edginess, sibilanace, produced better bass ect. Because it did this at the expense of musical coherence as a whole. By understanding this, is how I, personally, avoid the feeling of not making progress. I now achieve a greater awareness of being involved in the musical performance. This may not necessarily involve a lot expense or eye candy equipment. Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
  22. The best things I find is a improvement that shouldn't work. Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk

  24. I grew up around musicians and spent a lot time in rehearsal rooms. It that insight, which I am trying to capture. For example when musicians are 'in the groove' and play above their capabilities and never sound that good again. IMHO most hifi kit misses out on this in favour of a nice sound. I am not sure I am making sense, It's equivalent to growing up on a farm eating fresh fruit and vegetables, when most people prefer the taste of stuff from a packet.
