  2. The Attessa turntable is made (assembled) in the UK though ... https://www.madeinbritain.org/members/monitor-audio-ltd-ta-roksan

  4. Hi ... welcome to the forum and thanks for your interest. Unfortunately these items, whilst still available, are for collection only in North West UK.

  6. Would one of those top end Digital Music Players work for you? Something like a Pioneer XDP-300R, or one of the posh Sony or Astell and Kern players?

Went to take some stuff to the tip today. I couldn't believe what I saw in the small appliance skip ... a really good exterior condition NAD 3020A ... probably not working ... but what a shame. Wish I took a picture of it just to add to this topic. I mentioned it to the staff but they just shrugged.
  8. True, but every so often companies do marketing promotions ... sometimes these are linked to 5 year warranties. Have Kef ever done these in the past?
  9. Is it worth an email to Kef themselves? You never know.
  10. And both significantly better than a consumer products. Think of what punishment your car will be subjected to in it's 5-7-10+ years life. Where's the speaker manufacturer risk in electronic components that sit in a box that lives in an environmentally controlled and protected environment (your house). 5 years should be the minimum IMO.
  11. It's strange that Kef do 5 year warranty on wireless speaker drivers, but only 2 years on the electronics?! https://uk.kef.com/pages/warranty Don't they have any faith in their electronics? I have a 16 year old car and apart from a replacement battery and a couple of bulbs the electronics are working (and hopefully will continue to work) with 100% reliability. Domestic electronics have an easy life by comparison.

  13. They also advertised on here but decided to go in a different direction.

  15. I prefer a minimal box count but can understand given the way tech is moving why you might want want keep the digital front end as a separate device. Not for sound quality reasons but because of obsolescence. Hence why my digital front ends are all (except for one streaming amp) cheap and cheerful separate boxes reasonably decent internal DACs or failing that a digital output.

  17. Luddite!! Unless it's vintage hifi I wouldn't contemplate anything withough a remote control ... standby, volume, mute, etc. all from the comfort of your listening position.
  18. If you've got marginal WiFi where your CCA is in the room, you might want to try this ... Chromecast Ethernet Adapter
  19. Works OK for me without dropouts to CCA and other Chromecast devices. The Deezer app does seem to take a little longer than others to discover and start streaming discovered devices.
  20. I cobbled together some end of line Ikea Besta frames and doors and added glass tops with a layer of the foam-like thin material they use for protecting furniture panels. I think the whole lot was about £120. Unfortunately Ikea prices have gone silly and they charge for every shelf and hinge these days. PS .. before anyone asks ... yes I do have speakers ... I was just doing a bit of spring cleaning

Stopped using them 4 years ago (except for a recent temporary free trial of Amazon Music) and haven’t missed it at all, not that I was ever a prolific user of their services. I have always managed to find cheaper products elsewhere but even then I don’t mind spending a little extra if I can find something locally.
