  1. WireWorld Silver Starlight 7 HDMI Cable Cable offers approximately 85% of the performance of WireWorld's reference Platinum Starlight 7 (arguably the best HDMI cable in the world) for about 25% of the price. Specs & Features: HDMI 2.0 18Gbps HDCP 2.2 4K UHD 3D Audio Return Channel Ethernet Channel 10-48 Bit Deep Colour 120-600Hz Refresh Silver Clad OFC Conductors Silver & Gold Connectors 24-Conductor DNA Helix Condition: Excellent condition and perfect working order. 2. Besides the obvious virtues such as speed and imaging, stand mounts are typically more accommodating regarding room setup and can (usually) be positioned closer to walls than floor standers - and that can really matter in smaller rooms.
  3. I love Gillian Welch. She's a poet.
  4. I recommend the PS Audio DirectStream Memory Player SACD transport. As the name suggests, it's a memory player, so rather than outputting data directly from discs, it instead outputs data from a very low-jitter buffer system. It's pricey but sounds so good and is unique in that when partnered with the DirectSteam DAC, it can play the DSD layer on SACDs which sounds incredible.
  5. Siltech G7 Classic Anniversary 330i Balanced Interconnect Cables Stunning sounding interconnects from this most respected cable manufacturer. 0.75 Metre pair (approximately 80cm tip to tip) Factory terminated with Neutrik XLR plugs. RRP: £680 Reviews: https://www.soundstagehifi.com/index.php/equipment-reviews/158-siltech-classic-anniversary-330i-interconnects-and-330l-speaker-cables http://hifi-unlimited.blogspot.com/2009/08/tale-of-three-heavenly-fairy-sisters.html http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equipment/0718/Siltech_Classic_Anniversary_Cables_Review.htm Condition: Very good cosmetic condition and perfect working order. Note: I have either misplaced the box containing the certificate of authenticity or they had none when purchased pre-owned (I can't remember which) but if you are interested in the cables, please let me know and I will provide photos of the serial numbers on the barrels for you to forward to Siltech for authentication. Collection welcome or will send fully insured via Next Day Special Delivery. Price is £350 delivered. Thanks.
  6. What are the sonic differences between the Tablette 50 Signature and Tablette Reference Eight Signature? I'm looking for some small speakers to partner a PS Audio Sprout in a bedroom system and have an opportunity of purchasing either model pre-owned for a fair price.
  7. I searched for a pre-owned DirectStream DAC on various sites earlier this year for a few months and the average price is between £3K and 3.5K so please don't be tempted to pay £4K. I was lucky enough in the end to purchase a unit with the optional bridge (mk1) together with the matching PS Audio DirectStream Memory Player SACD transport for £5k so it's worth being patient.
  8. I've a 3.5 metre pair of Chord Odyssey 4 bi-wire speaker factory terminated 4 x banana to 4 x banana (so suitable for bi-amping) going spare. Message me if interested.
  9. The mk2 Bridge, as well as having increased functionality, supposedly sounds better than the original Bridge which sounds inferior to the DirectStream DAC USB input.
  10. Thanks for those. Very nice. I hadn't heard either artist before. Eliza Edens' delivery reminds me of Laura Marling who I adore, particularly her album Once I was An Eagle which I consider a masterpiece.
  11. Amy Speace I love the lyrics to this which has the sea and the shore in conversation with one another.
  12. Thanks for recommending Katherine Priddy. She's really good.
  13. I currently use an Atacama Evoque Eco hi-fi stand but plan on swapping it for an AV stand in order that the components can be placed side by side which will keep the system lower to the ground and increase the free space between the speakers which dramatically improves imaging and depth.
  14. I'll check it out on Spotify. Thanks for the recommendation.
  15. You're welcome. As I get older, I increasingly enjoy folk music to the point where it is probably my favourite and most listened to genre at the moment. I love the way folk songs often tell stories (instead of merely indulging in personal emotions) and how simple, honest and unpretentious they are.

  17. I was I don't know. It's not something I ever tried. When I bi-wired my speakers, I would use two separate single wire pairs, one terminated banana to banana, the other terminated spade to banana. That way both pairs could be connected to the amplifier binding posts.
  18. Still looking for one of these so I'm bumping the thread and using it as reason to share a poem: I do not live happily or comfortably With the cleverness of our times. The talk is all about computers, The news is all about bombs and blood. This morning, in the fresh field, I came upon a hidden nest. It held four warm, speckled eggs. I touched them. Then went away softly, Having felt something more wonderful Than all the electricity of New York City. - Mary Oliver

  22. Thanks to everyone who replied. I've no space for the larger P15. Two full regeneration sockets are all my hifi system needs so I was going to use the third socket to power a distribution block feeding the home cinema system but the home cinema system really is an afterthought. If it can partially power that too - great, if not - that's okay. Haha. You could find out how effective it simply by plugging your gear straight into the wall! Prior to buying the IsoTek mains regenerator, I installed a Goal Zero Yeti battery power station in my system (after reading this incredibly positive review here) but unfortunately, despite greatly improving clarity and subsequently increasing detail, it also robbed music of vitality. There was barely any life or energy to the music at all. That was my experience; but the review I linked to suggests they work incredibly well in certain systems.
