  1. Yes, that's spot on. I too have thought about adding a steamer in the chain for a better user experience and to also evaluate any noticeable sound changes. Hans Beekhunyzen (YouTube) has a Auralic G2 streamer before the minidsp studio shd and he reports excellent results ..... Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
  2. Morning@MartinC - yes, it's connected by ethernet. It's ok but compared to other apps and interfaces it's a few versions behind. Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
  3. Morning, You may have heard Tidal have developed tidal connect and have rolled out the function to a few devices. I'm keen for this to be available on the minidsp components, mainly the shd studio - as I own one, so I followed up with minidsp and here is their response: Hi Kub, Thanks for the suggestion. We don't have a Tidal Connect at this stage but will make sure to warn Volumio for future improvement. UNfortunately as a company policy we can never promise a feature until it's out. For that reason, we can't really answer if that is something that will be available. We'll certainly suggest for future improvement! :-) Hoping this info helps and feel free to contact us if you have further questions. **End** This will be a big step up from using the Volumino app ... and to be honest I'm getting a bit bored of it as it is sooo basic and sometimes glitchy and slow. From their response I'm not sure who would need to make the enhancement, Volumino or minidsp .... Cheers, Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
  4. You are probably right as I know little about Linn and their configuration requirements. Although I think adding a shd studio in the chain without having to use it as a streamer is possible but perhaps not with Linn. Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
  5. @MartinC beat me to it ... I was going to suggest adding a minidsp shd studio into your chain. However, I believe you can still handle streaming capability from the component before the shd (the Linn DSM in your case). A chap call Hans Beekhunyzen (YouTube) uses an Auralic Aries G2 as a streamer but feeds the signal through the shd studio .... Volumino is very basic and over time you'll hanker for something more sophisticated ... DSP is very useful having just got a better understanding of it ... There is lots to learn however, the members on this forum have been very helpful. Might be worth reading up on the minidsp on the owners page .... Cheers, Kub Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
  6. Ahh brilliant ... Thank you so much. I'll have a play around in a few days .... Or I may even start all over again .... Uninstall, fresh install and new measurements ... Enjoy your annual leave .... Going anywhere nice Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
  7. I manage everything through this .... Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks, it looks familiar from when I first installed everything over a year ago ...I shall have another look through .... Sorry was also meant to say that I use the dirac calibration tool .... Not sure which version (jeez I sound so vague don't I ....) Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
  9. Correct - it's the shd plugin .... Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
  10. Ok - so i followed your instructions and opened the shd app, clicked on start dirac, however a dialogue box appears which states I am already running a version. So I close down the shd app and the dialogue box changes and provides an option for me to download shd v1.7 .... In conclusion I now recall how I was able to download v1.7 but I am still unable to start dirac through the shd app. As a side note, I regretfully started to tinker with my target curve and I have lost my last setting ... You may recall from my post aonth or so ago that I had reached or tuned my system to a very pleasant presentation .... Everything was more relaxed, open and each instrument had its own space ... The sound was also detached from the speakers (to a degree) .... This has all gone and now I'm trying to work out how to set the curve to give me back that amazing sound .... Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
  11. That's right I have the shd studio .... I'll need to retrace my steps but I'm sure there is a v1.7 available for the shd which I downloaded from the minidsp website .... .... Thanks for the guidance [emoji4] Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks dude .... Will mess around with it later ... Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
  13. Hey all, My laptop can't detect the minidsp when I connect it by usb. The issue only arose when I upgraded to v1.7 .... I've downgraded back to v1.3 which seems to have solved the issue. Also, how do I access Dirac V3 from the Dirac calibration tool? Or do I open the Dirac V3 programme and access the minidsp? Cheers, Kub Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
  14. I heard a pair of epicon 6 at the festival of sound a few years ago ... I can't remember what they were paired up with but they looked and sounded fantastic. I won't begin to try and explain their sound but I remember thinking wow, these sound good .... Just my 10p worth ... Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
  15. Morning Folks, Is anyone using a minidsp shd as a roon end point? If so, how is this set up / configured? I assume roon is running on a pc, which is linked to the shd over the network and controlled using a phone / tablet? Please share experiences ... Cheers, Kub Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
