As you can see they are not in great condition visually but they do sound excellent. My intention is to clean them up maybe re-veneer them. There are two 'ports' one on the frobt baffle at the bottom, the other on the rear at the top. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

The Marantz is a stereo amplifier only. We are about to have an oak (not laminate) floor put down too and other that the sofa, no other soft furnishings. Once all the pandemic pandemonium is over I will try to have a listen somewhere. Yes the R3, or even R5 would be an option. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

Hi, it is a Marantz HD Amp 1. The speakers are Polish, I bought them for 25 pounds off facebook! They are large stand mounts with a 6.5 inch woofer and possibly TL loaded, but maybe not. I do prefer a fuller sound hence my tending toward these speakers. If pushed, I might be persuaded to go for theintons on reputation alone, plus I love the retro 70's vibe... 6. Hello all, I hope you are all coping well under the current circumstances. I have been toying with the idea of a new pair of speakers lately and looking around I came across Wharfedale and the Linton 85th anniversary as well as the Evo 4.4. I was wondering if any members have experience of, or any opinions on them? The reviews I have read appear very favourably for both although perhaps there are others I should be considering? For reference the room is 5M x 4M, firing along the length and my musical taste is very varied including prog, rock, pop and a little classical too sometimes. Source is FLAC and vinyl via a Rega Planar 3 and Marantz amplifier whose model number escapes me. Thank you all in advance! Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

  11. Thanks again Martin. I will check out the other streaming company you mention. If I can find a reasonable streamer with good audio quality and USB input also then that will be half the battle won. Steve Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  12. Hi Martin and thanks for the reply. I have actually alao tried an Iqaudio Pi-DAC PRO which again I was not that impressed with (its for sale if you want it [emoji3]) I had a quick look at the prices for Tidal and Spotify plus a coupke of streaming devices that can handle both. I will have a think, may just buy a streamer and a subscription! Steve Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  13. ^this.. If you are on a campsite I assume it wouldbe at lower altitudes? Bear in mond also that you may increase your warmth by wearing clothes too. I recently bought a Nemo Tensor insulated mat and it is awesome! Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  14. Hi. I haven't posted here for a very long time, but here goes. I am currently using a Rasberry Pi4 connected to my hifi as my music is on a USB HDD in FLAC. I am however unhappy with the quality of this method. I reconnected my CD player (remember those?) and there was a considerable hike in sound quality. Now, saying that, all of my many hundreds of CDs are currently in the loft and I was wondering if streaming might be the way to go? If so, is TIDAL the best option? Also I would want a streamer that can possibly connect to the TV or maybe have an app on the phone? I apologise if I sound like a luddite here but I am trying to modernise! Many thanks.. 15. These drivers were purchased with the intention of building a pair of FH3s however, I never got around to it and now is your chance to own them. No longer available, they are superb drivers and can be used in many full range designs. They are mint and boxed in their original packaging, and have never been connected. These can be yours for £50 plus £6 P&P (UK only please) If you would like any more information please drop me a PM. I am located in Northern Ireland. Many thanks,
