  1. Thanks for sharing this! Great deal- I wonder if it’s a quick conversion from 230v to 110? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yes and I do find the Naim sound to be quick, dynamic but a little thin for my tastes. I like a dynamic sound that is perhaps a touch warmer that gets the Dyns to sound exciting. I think the Tucana will do a great job...IF I can get one here. Loads of Mackintosh here, Krell, Moon, NAD, Anthem etc but interestingly a lot of dealers love to sell U.K. products! 3. I’ll keep on the look out guys. There are a lot of options. It’s the if I go for an integrated and want to stream, a DAC is needed too. Just trying to work out what to do as the Sonos and Bluesound node 2i DACs are at best average. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Sorry I meant for sale there[emoji846]....ok could be a consideration. Thanks mate Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks hifinutt. What I’m realising is it isn’t worth cutting corners particularly with these speakers. There’s a KRELL 400xi deformed sale in mint condition at about $1100. I think some have mixed feelings over these in my time here. Musical? Would it do a nice job? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Loving the directness PurpleP! I sold the 340 as moved from Bucks to the US last year and at the time needed the funds for the move however kept the Dyns. The Moon made them sing at low levels. With the DAC/headphone inbuilt it was a great 1 box solution with a streamer. A Tucana with a Chord Qutest or something like that would be nice right enough. There are some interesting options over here in the States to consider too. I’ve not heard Krell or Mackintosh amps yet but I’m going to. If a Tucana appears like that one for $1800 a few weeks back I’ll consider it[emoji108][emoji41] Sent from m
  7. OK guys it was just a thought. Now I have the AV sorted, I need to get my late night listening sorted out. I had a Moon 340i before which was great as it drove the Dyns effortlessly, had a very good DAC and a very good headphone amp built in. I had the Sonos Connect hooked to it digitally. I might just get another one unless there are any other second hand options that you thing I should consider around the $2-$3k mark? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. TBH there are nowhere close to well driven with the AVR400. I’m just using them for a bit of YouTube electronica DJ mix music in the background. I know you’ve been plugging the Tucana so I’m going to keep an eye out for one at a good price. Did the mk1 or 2 have an onboard DAC? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hi guys. I’ve just got an AVR400 set up for movies and am looking at a good value 2nd 2 channel integrated that can shove some welly up my contour S1.4s. I have found a mint condition A85 or an A90 for $400 & $600 respectively. How would one of these fair in the short to mid term where I could add some Powers/monos later on? Thanks is for thoughts! 10. I can make the gap slightly bigger to fit I think. Nordstrom would be the obvious choice but for 18ft of Blie Heaven that’s quite a lot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I’ve just measured up and need a 6M pair of speaker cable to use with Contour S1.4s and hifi. I had some Chord Epic in the U.K. and that was very good. I need thinner cable ideally to fit under a gap in the wall between the rack and speakers. Anything you can suggest that will do a great job similar to the Epic but at a budget? Max £30 per m budget I’d say. Happy to go used if needed. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Would these be a noticeable improvement to my Sennheisers as a long term closed back upgrade? Do I need to spend +$1k or I don’t need to? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Sorry I meant to mention I’m. Looking at a nice pair of ‘closed back’ headphones. Any thoughts on the $1000-$1500 range? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Good advice thanks for this. I like the look of the Meze’s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I currently use a pair of Sennheiser Momentum 2 headphones in to a Chord Mojo with iPad. It’s nice for just listening on the go but want to upgrade to a nice long term listening head-fi system. So just your thoughts would be great here as not sure which way to go:- spend up to $2k on a nice pair of headphones in to my Mojo, spend $1k on the headphones and upgrade the headphone amp or get a better headphone amp like a Chord Hugo 2 and stick with the Momentum 2s to start with? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks very much for your thoughts there, very helpful! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Hi there. Thanks for sharing your insights. So first step on system build appears to be an AV receiver for movies. Thinking either a NAD T578 V3 or Anthem MRX 540. Would hooking the Mojo up to the Receiver improve the sound quality when streaming music via the Sonos Connect? I plan on getting a top quality 2 channel amp when funds permit. This is just to get the rig started up. Thanks for your help! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. I’ve always fancied a Roksan Caspian amp having a Kandy as my first upgrade way back. Just throwing this in but what about a nice pair of Totem Arro’s? Slimline and other half friendly which should allow for some decent cabling. Could be nice! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Yes agree for what the mojo is it punches above weight! I’ll take a look at some options including the Oppo’s. Does anyone like Pioneer headphones here? I also like the look of Meze and Focal. Thoughts for around $1k? I’ll use the momentum’s for the commute whoever that starts up again![emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Hi guys. I’m currently using a very simple combo of a Mojo with the Sennheiser’s hooked up to an iPad for listening to music either via YouTube or Deezer. Would you say an upgrade of headphones is my logical best step or headphone amp? I listen to mainly DJ sets and electronica. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Great options. Would a supernait 3 go well with 52SEs & Contour S1.4s? I remember when looking to upgrade from A Cyrus DAC-XP/Mono X200 Sig combo, my dealer told me I should go for a Naim 272/250 combo. He reckons that would be terrific with the S1.4s. I am going to get another demo of Naim. I know it’s an agile sound which I like. It’s probably going to be a lot more of an investment though[emoji848] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Morning boys! Thoughts on this combo? The other thing I like the look of is a Primare i35. https://www.audiogon.com/listings/lisa777g-electrocompaniet-integrated-amp-solid-state With..... https://www.audiogon.com/listings/lisa7b9a-electrocompaniet-ampliwire-ii-stereo-power-amplifier-solid-state Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Yep Lurch, definitely a Node 2i and for sure I’m going to check the class A options you have all suggested- Nord, Ncore, Belles, Sugden etc. all look interesting slightly left field options which I love the thought of. Not ruling Bel Canto out either. SS wise I’ll put Leema on my shortlist. Has anyone had experience with a Krell and thoughts with Dynaudio? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. The Moon 340i was so effortless with the 1.4s I miss that combo. You’re right they do love multichannel here. I’ve had advice on getting one of the new NAD T778 multi channel receivers that has a built in bluesound streaming unit. Apparently sonically it’s quite capable with music. The thought had crossed my mind to go for one of those and maybe find an older S300 integrated for 2 channel as liked their industrial looks with loads of current. Then it comes back to if it ain’t broke and I like the balance, get another Moon or Leema or Supernait 3 and a better streamer and job done. I know they
  25. Brilliant thanks very much for this! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
