  1. Can I clarify, how much the speakers and stands are please?
  2. Stunning amplifier. I use a 402 with a valve pre-amplifier. I'm a habitual box swapper but I've owned my Krell amplifier for several years now and no plans to change. Good luck with the sale.
  3. Other potential contenders might be Proac or Falcon Acoustics LS3/5a. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. I’ve no experience of cartridges on a Brinkman turntable and arm, but it would be interesting to know what Brinkman dealers use on the turntables they demo (I’m sure they can’t all use Brinkman cartridges). I’m a great fan of Van den Hul cartridges (I own 3 Colibri’s of varying types). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. There might also be merit looking at these two articles: I've also used these as both single and dual platforms. To be fair for £17 each you can't go wrong, the only thing that bothered me was the edges aren't square (they are sloped to allow it to function as a chopping board) and ultimately it drove me nuts, I had them cut down so they are now.
  6. There was a thread a while back: This related primarily to speaker platforms, but the theory is still the same. Page 8 shows a nice simple solution employed by Mr Me and I've also built something similar (yet to try them though). I like the Townshend kit and the last 2 seismic platforms (with springs) I bought for my turntables cost less than £300 each (second hand).
  7. Bought a Marantz CD94 way back when they came out. Sold it. Regretted it. To scratch that annoying itch, I bought a boxed one from eBay. The seller delivered it and waited whilst we confirmed it’s condition and that all functions worked. Awesome. It accompanies my boxed PM94 that I acquired from Wam or PFM can’t remember which. Would love the CD12/DAC12 but rare as rocking horse s**t (only 100 pairs?) and last one I saw was advertised at £3,500 and I can’t pull the trigger at that price. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. I’m considering taking out a subscription to a VPN. Does anyone have any experience of them? NordVPN have a 3 year offer on at the moment that looks tempting, but are they any good, or should I spend my hard earned money elsewhere? Thanks. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Ron, I was about to give up then I just uninstalled everything including MDAC+ driver and started from scratch. Low and behold it's now working and I have PC USB DSD2.822M showing on my screen. Happy days.
  10. I've finally managed to get my DAC to recognise DSD playback but the only sound I get is 'interference', music. On the positive side I think this is a step forward (or is it).
  11. It’s the setting it up correctly that’s proving the challenge..... The files have moved on, but the instructions don’t seem to have and they don’t seem to be compatible. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. I've been using Foobar for a while now and whilst it's a bit clunky I've always found it reliable. Recently, for my office system I purchased an Audiolab M-DAC+ which can handle DSD files. How the hell do you get to play DSD files (DSF or similar) with an external DAC? I've got the right USB cable, downloaded the Audiolab driver and on numerous occasions uninstalled and re-installed Foobar and the necessary components I think are required. It plays PCM, but not DSD. Can anyone shed any light on this for me please (I'm hoping it's Foobar rather than the DAC)?
