  1. I've had the Dialogue 2 for seven years now. Excellent build, totally reliable and pretty good sounding. Best VFM I have bought probably. and I would recommend it to anyone. But take your tie and hear some alternatives too - you never know which "sound: you may like most.

I rate the Mullars high, for their warmth and somewhat romantic sound. Prefer them to the winged cs. Tesla (brown base) and RTF are my next favourites, then the winged cs. Not familiar with the Psvanes you mentioned.

Bit of a boring game tonight...
  4. +1. Gone are the visionary years and the bold, new products. Now it is all about "brand management", "monetizing the goodwill", etc...

Italy made a clear bid for the title... Now, what the fuck is wrong with the England team?

  11. I'd look at Usher 718, Proac, PMC, etc. All three listed outperformed the B&W685 in my auditioning a few years ago. On the other hand, if you like the B&W sound, why not look at 684 and 683? All these should be within budget S/H.
  12. I would say the speakers, if you want more depth and weight.
  13. My Prima Luna is made in China and it has been flawless and great sounding for over six years now... However, there used to be a big gap between Western designed and manufactured under western supervision and made by unknown Chinese companies. - - - Updated - - - My Prima Luna is made in China and it has been flawless and great sounding for over six years now... 14. I used to listen to to my Opera Prima from under 3m and the sound was sublime. Much better than the 5+ m now. See if you can hear a pair.A pair of PMC stand mounts (can't remember the model) was also very pleasant near field.
  15. Can you get your dealer to bring a few DACs for auditioning or even better - hold a bake off and invite people to bring their DACs. Might give you a better indication in what direction you can go.
