  1. Weatherproof is PE sheathed, you ll need to filter RS to PE sheathed to find weatherproof cable. I think the lengths are all too much for your job. 5E all the way especially of you want to terminate at all into boots. Cat 6 was virtually impossible to terminate into boots for me. The Kenable stuff doesn't say if it's solid core or stranded. Stranded is better for bends and terminating into boots in my experience as it's more supple. If you try to also use solid core for patch cables you may struggle. Otherwise looks like it'll do the job - for £10 take a punt. RS do some Van Damme if you need audiophile grade. 2. Whatever you pick check the bend radius for any 90deg turns. 5E will be plenty good enough and in my experience much more ductile than cat 6. I used cat 6 for the whole house, it was difficult. Just make sure you get weatherproof / UV stabilised cable. RS have a big selection https://uk.rs-online.com/mobile/c/cables-wires/network-communication-cable/cat5e-cable/
  3. But can you tell the difference? http://abx.digitalfeed.net/spotify-hq.html I thought I could, turns out on these samples I cannot. I'd be interested to see how others fair?!
  4. hmmm I hear that there are quite a few BIA russian knock offs, small market but high margin. I've never looked at or used paypal guarantee - always assumed it'd be pretty shoddy given my experiences of ebay. Tbh may have to take the plunge the last sale was in 2018 on discogs.
  5. Very long shot for the 2013/14 BIA SHM CD versions, either: SHM-CD UICY-76099 Platinum SHM-CD UICY-40055 Discogs only has versions from Russian sellers which I don't entirely trust not to be counterfeit.

  11. Soundstage was me. Its aim was to capture good recordings - high DR (to extent available by spotify) and good separation / imaging ("Soundstage").
  12. Does it still work here? if so how do I enable it?
  13. Better be quick. Just discontinued by Google.

I removed one speaker terminal to reuse the hole for the aerial. The other positive terminal I have also now removed (not pictured) and have a push on / off button for software shutdown - the main front button switches the mains.

I bought a blewn up ampaster from ebay. Prior customer connected the two positive terminals together, looking at the inept permanent marker on the rear. The fuses were blewn, I replaced them and the ampmaster came back to life. I took the ampmaster internals out and have stored them. I managed to reuse the case without cutting or drilling any further holes so can always reinstate back to the original ampmaster.

  20. Senn pxc-550 227g £263 Battery serviceable by sennheiser for modest fee. Can be used passively without battery power. These two points sold it for me over the Bose QC35s Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  21. I have the p3esr and shl5. I think I prefer the m30 range having listened to them all. The room does make a difference so whilst an audition is helpful - you need to hear them in situ ideally. You can't go too wrong with the m30. My local dealer wasn't great, not harbeth's fault - just an overly pretentious dealership and rather uncomfortable experienc. I ended up going to a dealer in Leeds who was fantastic. Could just be Northern customer service beats the south... He gave me a good price, very accommodating audition and tea. Sold. 22. I went with the Senn PXC550's after a lot of thought. Sennheiser sound quality is supposedly better than the Bose QC35s. Bose better noise cancelling. Senns can be used passively on a cabled headphone amp, when the battery has ran out of charge. Lot of wireless cans will only work if the battery has charge, i.e. cannot be used passively with an amp. Bose will not work passively when the battery is flat. Sennheiser will also replace the built in battery for a small fee when it's past its best. Bose are yet to commit to battery replacements and the price. Not sure B&W or Sony will replace their built in batteries. Either way ... the senns can always be used even once their battery has failed (and should you chose not too replace the battery) as an amped headphone. Most cannot do this. The touch controls are quite fun too. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  23. Install volumio and be done. It'll connect direct to your NAS, beautiful interface, no Linux faffing or tweaking. Audio optimised, plus supports Spotify and Spotify connect with the right plugins. Plus it's pre loaded to support i2s and iqaudio DACs just select them from the drop down. 24. I run SBT > DEQ2496 > DacMagic to solve a similar bass issue in a terraced house. Love the DEQ. I also use it with REW for room correction. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
