  3. Indeed... unfortunately it became no-pies-gate Happily, I was able to sneak some in past the guards
  4. And pies. Pies are a crucial requirement. And more pies. Did I mention pies?
  5. There seem to be 2 "contributors" to this thread that have failed to take note of Rabski's reminder of the need to abide by the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). I would suggest turning down the personal abuse to zero before one of the mods decides to turn it down for you.
  6. We have recently changed to electric cars and joined the Chargeplace Scotland network. They are in the middle of a transition to commercial operation and things are a bit chaotic - some charging points are activated only by their RFID card, some via their app, and some will take credit cards. At one point it was so chaotic that they made it possible to start a charge using any card with an RFID chip - e.g., a Tesco Clubcard - which was highly amusing
  7. One with the optional direction indicators...?
  8. Just watched Dame Judi Dench on WDYTYA - she's related to royalty too. Fascinating programme.
  9. ...and of course, Billy Cobham has to be in there somewhere:
  10. Another track...Spyrogyra, Havanna Moonlight
  11. It was fascinating watching the interplay between Shorter and Pastorius on stage - Shorter seems to like to be self-contained and introspective when he is playing, whereas Pastorius wanted to interact. A couple of times Shorter got visibly pi$$ed off with him! Didn't seem to get in the way of the music though.
  12. Of course, Birdland made it into the charts, once as the original WR version and again as a cover with lyrics...
  13. It's a great album. Another fave from the album is The Juggler:
  14. I was lucky enough to see them perform at the Hammersmith Odeon soon after Heavy Weather came out - outstanding gig!
  15. I built a remote controlled unit based on imported boards from China that I found on eBay - it gives me motorised volume control and 4 way input selection (RCA sockets), plus mains on/off. I built it into a small project box as a stand alone "passive pre" rather than attempting to add it to an amp - not sure that the latter is a great idea, especially if the amp has any resale value. It all works very nicely - I recently had to replace the mains relay because the original relay failed, and also added a snubber across the switched output to kill any arcing on the mains relay contacts, but otherwise the original boards are still doing fine after 4 years or so.
