  1. I have been having a bit of a clean out of the spare bedroom I use the the pc before I get the bed removed and then set it up as a second music room . One of the deals to get my Wife's agreement was to get rid of some at least of the stuff I was storing in the bed divan . So gone through it and some things are just getting taken straight to the tip (nothing hif fi ) . However I did come across something I forgot about a Cambridge Audio ISO DAC and a Cambridge Audio DiscMaster Transport . They are in okay condition but they both have issues . The Transport will suddenly go out of sync and the display flikers on and off but will reset with a bit of jiggling. REally needs to be sorted suspect it may be a socket connection inside the unit . Now the ISO DAC is a little more difficult I lent this to my brother and he brought it back to me about six months later very sheepishly telling me he had broken it . Two issues one the Click switch on the back for the clock function on and off has broken . It was a very simple up and down switch so should be easy to sources and replace . Now the real issue the power supply for the DAC is in an off board plastic box with a cable and mini din (five pin I think ) connector . These can be a little fiddly to get the right way and connect and my brother has used brute force so now various pins are bent and the socket looks fairly mashed too. Having said that if you have the skills the cable is very long and it should be easy yo just cut off the din plug and remove the socket and replace it with sometihng simple . So the two things with can have their clocks linked are up for anyone that feesl they could use them . Would prefer collection but if it has to be post then PM me and we can sort something out. If no one is interested then these have to be disposed of and the Tip is there fate . Lastly I have found a box of a few blank Sony Mini Discs if anyone wants these again PM me and we can arrange something.
  2. Free to a good home , rear boot load mat , front and rear mud flaps, front and rear wind deflectors, front and rear rubber mats , pick up only from buckley , need to be gone by the 1st cheers peter NOW Taken
  3. Up for grabs, is a second-hand Quad treble panel, which has been a spare for my 57's for a few years now. (May also fit 63's) Never used so untested. However, I was assured by the previous owner that it was still ok, as he had replaced all his panels with One Thing Audio panels. Anyway worth a punt at £10 to cover postage.
  4. Hi, In my recent charity shop find (see 2ch debate) I have a pair of Mission Freedom Speakers. The speakers are in black ash veneer and come with Pyramid type stands (grey). Unfortunately one of the Bass/Mid Drivers is not working correctly in one unit. (Distortion and Rubbing Cone) . All other units seem OK. I would give the cabinets 10/10, Grille 8/10 ,stands 10/10. Please reply to this thread if interested and PM me as well. Cannot post, but can be collected from Peterborough, or perhaps meetup in Medway towns on en-route A1/A14/M11 /A2 etc. Regards Alan
  5. Hi, Free to anyone who can collect in Bath. The midrange drivers are in need of replacement. I did start a refoaming attempt at some point but after removing the foam one of the cones developed a crease which would make it challenging to work on for me at least.. The bass and tweeter drivers are in fine cosmetic condition and the cabinets (black ash) are ok but refurbishable I would think. The sponge grilles have long since decomposed into dust. I have owned these from new, so they have some sentimental value and I would love to see them go to a good home as they have been my all time favourites..
  6. Brand new unused crossovers. 2 way. Postage by agreement or collect from OX9.
  7. I posted this in the Charity Sales sector, but with one week to go to Kegworth, thought I'd try here. I'm disposing of my entire collection of HiFi News magazines, as they're now outgrowing the space available for them. I have complete years from 2000 right through to 2017, including yearbooks as published. There is one missing, November 2003, when if I recall, there was some problem with supply, although there was an issue published. If anyone's interested in taking the lot, or any individual years, I'll bring them to Kegworth for free, or can package them for shipping, but that much paper won't be cheap to send. Suggest £2 per year (not per issue) to charity if you collect at Kegworth. I also have 15 or so cardboard LP mailers which again I''m happy to bring to Kegworth if anyone wants them. £3 for the lot? Please PM me or reply on here if you want any of these. I've had a request for 2011, which I'll bring with me, but I'm reluctant to bring that much paper half-way across the country if nobody wants them. Thanks for looking S Quote this
  8. I’ve got a couple of books that might be of interest to someone. Tape Recorder Servicing Mechanics - Schroder - 1967 (originally printed in German in 1961) Tape Recorders Performance Analysis and Service Techniques P.Spring - 1961 Both hardback, in good condition and very technical. Any use to anyone? No charge, just donation to the Kegworth charity to cover postage or collect from Kegworth on the Sunday.
  9. Anyone want a poorly pair of Impulse h6 for a project. I heard these working prior to the bass/mid transplant. These have original Focal TD90K tweeters. Probably ok but elderly now. No crossovers although plenty of crossover layouts on internet. I have the crossover parts but they need a rebuild. No bass/mid drivers either. I do have some SEAS bass mids that fit with a mild tweak, these won't be free though. The cabinets are damaged at the top of the front face, courtesy of previous owners relative apparently. The sides have a nice grained veneer with only small scratch. They aren't quite as bad as it reads and for free! I bought them as I wanted the main bass/mid driver to switch into mine. This is done and now the cabinets are taking up room and need to go. This will suit someone with the time and inclination to rebuild a classic 1990's speaker. Serious enquiries PM me and I'll send you pics. These will have to be a pick up or an arranged meet up.
  10. I have a few dozen 12” singles if anyone wants to collect Im in London/Essex borders its 80’s soul/disco stuff
  11. I was going to sell these on fleabay but I am so disgusted at fleabay 10% commission (as well as what PayPal skims off if buyers pay that way) that I would prefer to give them away to a good home on here ... Ideal for someone on a tight budget. There is an areal with the tuner but the plastic bit where it attaches has broken - still seems to work though also has a UHF socket for plugging in a "proper" FM areal. Would prefer collection from my home in Kingston upon Thames but happy to post provided "buyer" covers postage cost.
  12. Good Morning I have a Meridian CD200 transport that is not currently working . If anyone wants a project and would like to come and collect this then please PM me . Sorry I do not have the transit screw and the unit is a bit big and heavy for posting so collection only . Bencat
  13. Just having a clear out here and came across a project I have that I never got around too and it is just taking up space. It is an Audiomeca Mephisto II.X CD player and PSU. It needs some care and attention. It lights up as in intended and will even play the odd CD but only when it feels in the mood. It definitely needs to be looked at and right now I have neither the time or inclination. Free to anyone who wants to collect it.
  14. I am keen to measure my room, with and without Audyssey correction (that my AVR does). With and without the sub. Anyone has one laying around and can lend it for a week or so?
  15. All in decent condition, collection only from just outside Oxford, OX3 9TJ
  16. I have a Duet that I am no longer using. I got it free, as the power socket was intermittent, but I tightened it up, and although it might take a little wiggle to settle it. it works continuously if you don't move it. The remote works perfectly without wiggling. However, after a few years of sterling service, it recently stopped communicating with my Netgear ReadyNAS. I have tried what little I know to get it going again, but no joy. I am pretty useless with computers, and a friend had to set it up for me, originally, but I decided to move on to something more modern anyway. The radio section of the Duet works fine, so it is still talking to the internet, just not to the ReadyNAS. So if someone who knows about these things wants to try to sort it out (it may be nothing, just me!), or can use the controller, then you can have it for the cost of postage. Probably about £6.
  17. The item offered free of charge is now in a new home! Please ignore this post.
  18. Stag hifi cabinet in mahogany. Some marks but in good condition. As can be seen in pics, shelves are not correct and could be improved however they have been doing service for several years. It can take 3 standard sized components including a TT on the top shelf. Perfect for disguising a second system from a less than appreciative spouse or partner :-) Pick up from Surrey near junction 7/8 of M25

  20. We have two boxes of text books that are mainly about Geology and Oceanography but with a smattering of Biology thrown in for good measure. They're all in great condition and were part of a collection that were donated to a local resource, but that was unable to be accommodated. Anyway, if you have a an interest in this area or have a child that's studying for A-Level or degree in these or related subjects, these might come in very handy. In return we'd just like to see a donation to charity. They include the following: Skelton: The Cretaceous World Cooke, Warren, Goudie: Desert Geomorphology Wood, Habgood: Why people need plants Vita-Finzi: Monitoring the Earth Lalli & Parsons: Biological Oceanography, an introduction Open University (various): S173 Plants and People, S193 Fossils and the History of Life, S369 The Great Ice Age Open University S339 series (6 books): 1. Seawater, 5. Marine Biochemical Cycles * We have two complete sets of these oceanography books. These can only be collected from just outside Yeovil as they're heavy. They don't all need to go together if you only want some of them, but the sets must stay together and I still don't want to post them either way. If someone can make good use of the lot, so much the better! These are only going to be available to be reserved and collected for a limited period as we need to clear the decks.
