Hello everyone I have a dust allergy and being home so much and with windows open it’s creating a lot of dust. So am looking to simplify my second system especially as I sit nearfield 1m away from the speakers. Specifically I would like to reduce boxes and cables. Current system Auralic Aries Mini/SBooster that will stay as will the Harbeth P3ESR. The rest is Benchmark Dac 1 for the Auralic, Luxman DA100 dac for YouTube from MacBook, Creek OBH-11 and Quad 909. I would also like an amp that has a credible MM phono input for my turntable. My dedicated phono stages don’t like all the synths and effects etc that I have plugged in and I can’t solve this after months of trying. My Marantz PM11S2 had no problem at all and the phonostage was silent. So my ideal situation would be an amp with analogue path for the turntable and a built in DAC with USB input. I did buy a Marantz PM7000N for £1000 but compared to what I have now it was far off the pace and was sold quickly. Marantz don’t have a model higher up the range but Denon do the 2500NE at £2500 but it’s a little on the large side of things. Still could be ok. What other amps with DACs would be a good alternative? I prefer to buy something easily available secondhand. The other choice is to go with a Benchmark DAC HGC (inc preamp) as this has analogue inputs and complete analogue signal path for these inputs, has a DAC that I like, but no phono stage. The lack of a phono stage is almost a deal breaker but I would rather not have a phonostage stage if it means that I can’t get everything else that I want. 80% of listening will be streaming. I will listen to this system more than the main system as I prefer the Harbeths over the Neats. Prefer something smaller than bigger. Prefer no class D as I didn’t like the Marantz PM10 at £6k but will remain open minded as I know some on here like GATO. Budget preference is £2000. Could go to £3000 if necessary. I will be visiting U.K. soon so don’t need to worry about shipping to Portugal. Thanks
