  1. Optimum 2000-series. Glass w/brassy-gold uprights. Totally solid construction. Great condition: no chips/nicks on the shelves and no rust on any metalwork. Spiked underneath. Looks ace with valve equipment on it (colour's just right to compliment tube innards). *Doorstep collection* offered as not postable. Location is Castleford, West Yorkshire. RRP was ~£400.
  2. I've been racking (pun intended) my brains all weekend about how to accommodate my changing hifi in Kendal... and have at last come up with a cunning plan. Yes, another one. So up for sale is my gorgeous seven tier hifi rack from Custom Designs. It's the previous version of the Milan 6 in which the shelves sit in grooves in the sides. The top shelf is a Milan 10, top-mounted in the current style, and selected so it could take the weight of a once-resident 35kg amp. I can't even fit all seven shelves in under my turntable shelf, which is why there's one on the floor. The third photo is to show the exquisite detail of the design. EQUIPMENT NOT INCLUDED! I simply love the look of this rack. Slight curve to the front of the glass, etc, all wonderfully thought through. Real solid oak not veneer, and it's sustainably sourced. External width 580mm; internal width 480mm, allowing standard 430mm width components to fit and breathe. All shelves except the top one can obviously be swapped around. The top shelf gives a 120mm (4") gap underneath so can comfortably acommodate most components. Summary of shelf gaps: 120mm x1 under top shelf 120mm x1 moveable 150mm x2 100mm x2 For reference, the two lowest Arcam units you can see are 85mm high and sit comfortably in the 100mm shelves. The top shelf has an RRP of £185, the others £170 so if you bought this new it would cost you £1205. There are two logistical challenges: I simply cannot consider posting this due to glass, costs, etc. Any handover arrangements must be consistent with current government regulations; social distancing and a polite bow then. The rack is in Kendal. I'm here until Tuesday PM and then heading home to Leicestershire; I will return in 2-3 weeks. Safe handover can be arranged in Kendal, near Melton Mowbray or points in between. Please PM me if interested. Open to sensible offers of course.
  3. Hi! I'm researching early on speakers to use in my future hi-fi system. I have to place them on a rack instead of stands (floortanders won't work too, I'll explain). This rack is an IKEA thing, it's a KALLAX with 5 inserts (1x5 configuration) and on braked castor wheels. I use it for storage too and on top wanna place my turntable (avid ingenium plug&play probably) and speakers on the sides. I will be using some isolation under the tt and maybe some isoacoustic-like stands under the speakers. The reason I'm not using stands apart from having not much space is that I'm disabled and it is more comfortable for me to listen from the floor. The kallax on castors gets to something like 50-53cm height. Also because of the wall I want to use only front-ported or infinite baffle speakers. Which of these won't get spoiled so much because of the placement? I've seen focal aria 906's in such placement more than once. They are on my list, together with -Audiovector QR1 -JM Reynaud Bliss Jubilee (or Lucia) -Vienna Acoustics Haydn Grand SE Scansonic MB-1B (small but like them very much from what I saw and easier on shelf than most others I guess) Focal Aria 906 (repeating myself) Russel K 100 (though probably not because its cabinet is designed to vibrate more) from infinite baffle: Proac Tablette 10 Signature Spendor A1 Something more? Please recommend The amp is most probably Arcam SA20. I know I've listed many price points and many speakers, but this is just a generalization. Something below 2000 euros (I will have tax refund too as I don;t have a network here and will be buying when visiting the EU by car next year hopefully). I know here many like Vandersteen, they intrigigue me alot but there are no European dealers AFAIK. Any help welcome!

  5. Large well built stand with an RRP of over £1500. Black finish, has some marks and scratches. Comes with pump for bladder system as pictured. There are some scratches as is inevitable with these things as you can see in the third photo but they are mostly covered when you put your equipment on. Dimensions: H: 111cm / W: 58cm / D: 44.5cm Bottom shelf has 25cm of space Second tier 25cm Third tier: 20cm Fourth tier: 14cm All shelves are 44.5cm deep Looking for £400 but sensible offers considered. 6. This rack has been the perfect match for my Naim / LP12 stack for the last few years. It has 4 normal Q4 maple shelves, one Q4 Evo maple shelf and one clear perspex turntable shelf to top it off, all rising on 19mm black columns. The column configuration is as shown below. This rack, specced similarly is over £1000 using the rack builder on the Quadraspire website It's in lovely condition but with a bit of shadowing where the components have sat for a few years, along with some footprints from my Supernait on the 3rd shelf down, and the top perspex shelf is in near mint condition. Also comes with a few spare columns, spikes and floor protectors. COLLECTION ONLY please from near Banbury. Thanks Mark
  7. This is an Atacama Equinox 2 shelf rack which can be used as a standalone rack, but also acts as a base unit and can be extended with extra shelves from this modular range. It’s a superb system - I’ve extended my main rack up to 5 shelves in this way and it works very well indeed. Build quality is excellent. The finish is steel grey with green tinted glass and there is 230mm between shelves. Spikes for the bottom of the unit are included as pictured. Good overall condition with a few marks here and there - the mark on top of the frame is covered when in use. 25 quid cash on collection or ppl gift from Highgate N6.
  8. It's a very long shot but you never know: does anyone already have one of these racks and want to upgrade/replace the top and bottom glass shelves to 10mm glass? I thought I was buying a short and a tall hifi rack for the 10mm glass shelves in each but ended up buying a complete short hifi rack (sold to a wammer) and most of an AV rack like this (but taller): The rack cost well over £1,000 when new but they go for a fraction of that these days. It's basically two complete racks in one but angled so with seven rather than eight legs. I need four of the legs and all the intermediate (adjustable) shelves, and a wammer is taking the remaining three legs for a rack project (and donating to the Dogs Trust when we do the handover in Kegworth ). I left the large top and bottom shelves with the apologetic seller (he hadn't included the right photo in his listing) as they are of no use to me, and got some money knocked off. If anyone wants them, shout loud and early as I might be able to rescue them from going to recycling.... PM me if interested and I'll see if they're still there. With luck, I'd get them for around £50.
  9. I'm looking for a hifi stand, ideally 3 tiers and within about 30 miles of Darlington.
  10. Hi folks Time to part with my beautiful wood and glass Target rack. In great condition. Glass top will hold a lot of weight (if needed). Please note the slide-in cable cover at the back of the rack is missing (a simple piece of thin plywood - easily replaceable). Buyer collects (Salisbury, Wiltshire) as glass obviously breakable. Looking for £45
  11. I'm selling these stands as I have upgraded to some second hand HRS racks and bases. Details are: TOWNSHEND AUDIO - Size 2 Seismic Stand (19.5" wide and 35cm deep) with 4 Shelves (new, 2016) : £1,000 TOWNSHEND AUDIO - Size 2 Seismic Stand (19.5" wide and 35cm deep) with 5 Shelves plus Tools (ex-dem, 2014) : £1,000 (some scratches on the supports from changing shelf positions) Both stands are the same height at 85cm and have clear shelves. http://www.townshendaudio.com/hi-fi-home-cinema-equipment-vibration-isolation/hi-fi-home-cinema-vibration-isolation-equipment-stand-rack/ Collection from central London only. If you can give me a lift back then I'm happy to help you to move equipment from one stand to another.
  12. Soundations AV rack. I saw this US rack online and was surprised to find ONE for sale in the UK. I can honestly say I believe this is the only one in the UK! A beautiful rack which I believe was $1300 when new in the USA. 4 brushed metal pillars with suspension metal rods for the glass shelves. Allen key height adjustable glass shelves (a few threads on the metal adjusters have been shredded due to age, but all shelves stay firmly put as you can see). I put rubber washers in between to separate the glass from touching the metal adjusters. Each shelf takes a very good weight which again is obvious to see from my photo. Metal rods on each corner separate the shelves from vibration. Also has spikes. I had this at Scalford for 2 years running. It's a beautiful rack. 350 GBP or offers welcome. Collection only from Somerset (very heavy)
