  1. Ayre QB-9DSD USB DAC in Black , vgc original box & instructions , RRP £2500 brought from elite audio last year at £950 s/h with one years guarantee , this was sent back to Elite audio last month as it had a light hum from transformer , they fixed it and sent back and sold by me to a wammer for £750 , i then refunded him as the hum returned , elite are looking into this for me , the hum is not audible through speakers , nor when playing music , it is faint in the room when quite , i put a paper weight on top over the transformer area and it quiets it down so you have to really listen for it up close but it is still there , there are some blurb on the web about this from other owners , apparently its common in this actual model , some people suggest getting transformer replaced which this has been done by Elite , Ayre has also suggested on the web that its due to 2 transformers within it and you just have to live with it , i have for a year but now selling my whole system so am offering this at £500 plus delivery or collection from PL329PS , pound for sound unbeatable , this is a very organic relaxed sounding dac for the music lover .
  2. Innuos Zenith Mk3 with 1Tb SSD Hard decision to sell but it's simply not currently being used and it's way to good to keep in the cupboard Purchased as ex-display from an Innuos authorised dealer in January this year and still under guarantee from them until January 2021. Reciept will be supplied. Designed with a triple linear power supply, Mundorf capacitors and custom treated SSD which really combine to give superb sound quality and excellent sound stage, particularly when used with a good USB DAC. There is a tiny mark about 3mm long and as fine as a hair. I had to use flash in order to get it to show in the photos and I doubt if you will ever notice it unless looking for it. Would prefer collection from Exeter but will post at buyers cost and risk. These are £2999 new and two used models recently sold on ebay, one for £2250 and the other £2399. Asking £1995 plus insured postage. https://www.innuos.com/en/catalog/go/zenith-mk3-1tb-ssd-black
  3. Bought this in July from Slav (mac72) here on the Wam to use with my second turntable. Now I don't have a second turntable any longer I don't need the Benz cartridge. I used this cartridge for around 10 hours mounted in a SME V (also now sold) so it's in pretty much the same condition it was when I purchased it. £625 including UK postage (RMSD) - will post to EU (ask for cost). Here are the details from the original listing: "it seems my plan to install second tonearm to my TT is not going to happen , DV507 has a new home now so Benz Wood SL I bought from Expert Stylus is for sale . I bought this cartridge in ex-demo condition with approx. 28 hours of use , I have put another few but no more than 10 while my Cadenza Bronze went back to Denmark ." "Cartridge has 38 hours from New, possibly less , it wasn't re-built , I have an e-mail from ESCo to confirm this if anyone interested in this cartridge . I'm not very good at describing sound am afraid , bass is a bit less deeper than Cadenza Bronze hence it might be described as more detailed , possibly there is more to come as Benz requires 40 hours run in time ."
  4. Euphya Symbiose 320 Integrated amp and dedicated power supply (FULL SIZE) 2 box , 2 x 80 Watt at 8 Ohms, separate power supply, four line inputs and one MM phono input. French amp that was a few years back many wam members fav integrated amp at The time , put it into the wam search bar , RRP £3500 , in a review it blew a Lavardin IT away , it shares many values with a warm valve like sound that is stunning , there is a crackle on the volume when turning up or down from 0 but is not present after 8 o/c pot needs a clean and maybe amp could do with a service , that in mind i am willing to take £withdrawn from sale for her a musical bargain , also there are a few cracks in the acrylic cover where the screws do up see pics , collection PL329PS or delivery as i have the original boxes , remote control is not working but i have a programed one , at the rear notice the links from power supply to pre are connected through a computer link style input so no expensive foo power cables are needed . https://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?27236-Euyphya-alliance-320-hiend-French-integrated
  5. Hi I have a Vortexbox from around 2012, not been used for couple years but still works, any interest offers around £75? Have box but would prefer pick up, have couple hundred cds ripped on it thanks
  6. Ok, I may come to regret this but I want to go a different route with my next speakers and these are now too nice to be left in a cupboard! I’m also trying to pair-down my gear due to an up coming house move! I bought these a short time ago in a very sorry state and have lovingly, and I think tastefully, restored them. Both speakers were stripped down to bare boxes, a few minor wood repairs were carried out and they were sanded back to bare wood before staining and finishing with a satin epoxy oil. As you can see from the images, I went with a darker stain with a lovely deep chocolate colour, rather that the old fashioned red-ish stain that was originally on them. The ported rear panels were painted black and re-lined internally with a modern speaker cloth. The main front baffle was cleaned and painted black before re-covering in a beige material. The top panels have had a template made of 5mm ply which was covered in the same material. This makes for easy removal, giving access in to the top cavity which houses the mid drivers, tweeters and crossovers. one of the original Super 3 tweeters was beyond repair and has been replaced with an identical unit. After speaking with Paul at RFC about the crossovers, I took his advice and bought new ferrite core induction coils to his specification and new caps for the crossovers, which have all been replaced. At the same time, I installed modern banana plug terminals in place of the old bare wire screw type terminals. These are a lovely vintage speaker and quite rare, especially in this condition. Often found in unmatched pairs, as they were sold individually for mono use, this is a matched pair with close serial numbers. They are designed for corner placement but work quite well provided they have their back to a wall, so are good for smaller rooms. I’m not sure of the exact specifications but have been told sensitivity will be somewhere in the 95db range so perfect for use with low powered tube gear. Given the rarity & condition, I’m not exactly sure where to place them price wise. I will start at what they owe me in outlay plus a little for consumables and my time and effort to get them to this stage. £550 cash on collection from Oldham, Greater Manchester. demo welcome. Shipping will not be possible but I could travel a short distance to meet up or deliver. I have included some images showing the original condition and crossovers as well as some showing the end result. Any questions or more images, drop me a PM. Thanks.

  10. Looking for a well-loved, unmolested pair with heavy duty, matching stands and original boxes. Can collect within reason or arrange collection by courier. Thanks for looking.
  11. This is now withdrawn from sale. Following the purchase of my new to me Art Vinyl 1 phono I am going to let go of my Audion pre-amp as it is now left out of the signal chain & not needed. It is in very good shape both physically & electrically, & works perfectly. It operates in pure class A Triode, has 5 line inputs, 2 main outputs plus a tape out, & has a ground lift switch to help if grounding is an issue. It doesn't really have a "house sound" & just gets out of the way so the music can flow, it has been heard at Lurch's bake offs & is well liked & respected. It is currently fitted with a pair of 6N2-J 9 pin triode valves & a pair of EF86's. I haven't had a problem with the valves so haven't done any rolling so cannot say how they would respond, but it sounds mighty fine to me. I would prefer collection, although I am happy to deliver within say 50 miles of Bournemouth, but would consider posting if that was the only option. I don't have the original packaging but I am a packing master! I would like Withdrawn
  12. I have decided to do the unthinkable & move on my Firebottle Plus phono stage. During the last few months I have acquired quite a few cartridges, both MM & MC, looking for the right sound from my kit, but I have found that rather than just enjoying the music I am constantly changing carts & listening for differences & comparing strengths & weaknesses of them all, so I have decided to stick with MM carts for now, with a dedicated MM only phono stage. The Firebottle has a bit of a cult following on fora like this, & once heard it is easy to see why, with all the strengths that valves are famous for, great versatility & easily switchable from MM to MC without having to open the case, & the shoebox size makes it easy to site. I am not one for hifi hyperbole so I won't talk about "veils being lifted" or any of that nonsense, suffice to say it is a very very good stage, especially considering the price. Before I made the decision to sell I spoke to the guy who made it, Alan, & he told me he can upgrade this almost to the level of his new phono stage, the Vivant, which he is selling for just over £1,000, for the miserly sum of £200, which is amazing really. I would like £350 for this Firebottle, plus £15 for fully insured postage, or you are welcome to collect if you are near enough, or I could bring it to you within say a 50 mile radius of Bournemouth.
