  5. Hi Guys, Just thought I'd write a quick report on last nights activities. In anticipation of receiving some Royd Sintra's kindly organised by Bourney I thought it was time to mass load the Atacama SE24 stands I'll be using. I've had these since the early nineties and never got around to filling them. When Freefallrob was round my place he told me to fill them with Cat litter to stop them ringing and add weight. So in this week's shopping trolley I dropped in two large bags of kitty litter which cost me a whole £3.10 in Aldi. Last night I made a scoop by cutting off the bottom of a lemonade bottle, found some medium sized plastic bags and set to. I stuffed a plastic bag in the hole at the back leaving the top protruding out of the hole and started to fill the bag using the scoop so as not the spill any, just to save making a mess on the kitchen floor. I had the stand laying down to make filling the bag easy, every now and then I stood up the stand to make the cat litter fall to the bottom of the stand, then laid it down and kept on filling the bag with my home made scoop. I reckon it took about 10 kg of litter to fill each stand. Once I had filled the stand up to the top I tied a knot in the top of the bag to stop the litter spilling out. I gave both stands a good shake so the the cat litter settled down and filled the void completely. The result is pretty good I think. Before filling them if you knocked the column it rang like a bell after filling knocking on the column just returns a dull thud. As well as helping with the ringing it has added a good 10kg in weight to each stand. The Royd Sintra's have arrived this morning so now I'm looking forward to mounting them up and having a listen tonight. Anyway hope this might help for anyone who might be thinking of filling their speaker stands and never got around to it. Easy to do, cheap and should help improve sound quality. Cheers
