I'd never heard of these transmission line speakers until I saw this ad on Facebook Marketplace for a pair of large speakers "thought to be Cambridge Audio": https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1093523241480809. £200 in Braintree.
A quick search threw up strong suggestions they are indeed Cambridge Audio and the R50 at that, but they might be a clone... at 100cm tall they appear to be 2" shorter but 34cm width and 46cm depth are right and they definitely look like the same driver config. These have cloth grilles not the plastic ribbon ones, and the cabinet top is veneer not black. Then there's the size of the "letterbox" port...
The R50 got cracking reviews back in the 70's for their strong clear bass (compared with most rivals) and uncoloured presentation.
Photos 1 and 2 from ad, 3 and 4 are of the R50.
Will leave it with any interested wammers to do their detective work (eg. are the drivers all KEF as per R50 literature) but thought I should share.
