Ollie Robinson's nine year old tweets have come back to haunt him and the ECB have done the right thing
to suspend him.
He appears to have been a naive teenager tweeting thoughtless and offensive crap to impress his mates.
Big Brother found him out. After one international.

Someone is apparently employed at the ECB to vet players. Going back as far as when?
Also disturbing.

It's a good job there was no social media when I was a 18 year old gobshite in Salford, I'd be in the tower now.

The whole West Stand at Headingley an all - actually shove us all in the nick for being not as 'woke' as we could.

Boycott knew how to bore the socks off the opposition with his resolute & competent Yorkshire stubbornness.
As one of the two or three current England stalwarts - Yorkie Root has Boycott's northern drive and commitment
but is otherwise nothing like Sir Geoffrey.
The now dropped top order - Sibley & Crawley, will no doubt be full of that dreadful personal doubt and feelings of
inadequacy. Malan is now back and good luck.

Watching England lately makes me very pessimistic, and I'm seriously wondering whether India could actually pull off an unbelievable result here. If they could get a lead of 125-150 on the final day, you never know it's England when all said and done.

O ye of little faith  xD

As comprehensive a win as you are likely to get.  Now all we've got to do is repeat the performance levels in the next test.

As per usual, our batsmen collapse in spectacular fashion again. The frightening thing is apart from the missing Ben Stokes, that is the strongest batting line up we can muster.

I'm not confident about our chances for the final test starting at Old Trafford this Friday. Could it be possibly Jimmy Anderson's final test at his home ground? I think it should be, as the prospect of getting smacked all around the park in Australia this winter would be a sorry end to a wonderful career.  We need some real pace down under and our fastest bowlers (Archer and Wood) seem to be constantly injured. It's not looking good.

Vaughan saying that it's all about money doesn't really surprise. (Cancellation of the 5th test match)
It's disappointing that cricket has taken 2nd place to the IPL.
Give the lads proper money like the chavs that play footie & they wouldn't have to peddle their skills
in the damn IPL...

Robin Jackman nipping into the bar to get a lemonade.
Long before the cynicism of commercialism (oops that word again).
The top humour of some of the Ozzie & SA fast bowlers on the boundary coping with drunken but friendly
fans.

eh? THE ABBOT.
Hello Im late to the partay, but brought a bottle of fizz. I once played for warks too so Im allowed in even with crappy trainers on.

Its ASHES TIME omg omg. What a fabulous sight it was to see... another crying ashes aussie recently. So wonderful. Can't recall who but it doesnt matter, he cried like a baby in front of the press. Like Smith the other one did for rubbing his balls with sandpaper. Ninny namby pamby crying aussies. Love it. 501-1. Was it their captain again? I think it was their captain, like Smith who actually looked like a baby before he even started crying.

Now I have a request/ shout out to all crix fans on this thread. Does anyone     know of a site I can watch the ashes on? I dont mean the usual way, if you ahem.. see what i mean. Would you please pm me if you know? I used to use one site, but seems clamped down upon now/ shop shut.

Thanks. Abbot.

No need is there, just pm. So obviously the suggestion.

Any excuse to pick at someone.. and wham! a post hurtles out a breakneck speed (really to try create a new 'pack' against someone (I thought we left that to social media turgid sites, not friendly hobby forums). The internet everybody..

..or maybe you're an aussie?

Well, that's been an embarrassing 3 weeks has it not?

As well as the Aussies bowled, and they were bloody good,  you have to say that our batting is village green standard.

As the late, great cricket writer Martin Johnson once opined about the English cricket team, "There's just three things wrong with the England team, they can’t bat, they can’t bowl and they can’t field."

Yes, I agree it been embarrassing, all round. Selections have been bizarre for some time now. We need to find an opening pair. Crawley if he plays should be batting 5 or 6. We need to find a spinner who can turn the ball. Too much emphasis on 1 day cricket.

Remember Brearley? - Brearley's quiet authority was formative - it was a reference.
I wish our lad Ben Stokes all the very best.

I'm of a mind that thinks that it wont make that much difference whoever is captain, we can't bat for toffee.
